“Delightful flavors danced on our taste buds, exceeding our expectations with every bite. The hot links proved to be a symphony of tastiness, and thanks to the insightful recommendations from the cheerful staff, the mustard sauce added the perfect zing to the experience. The beef brisket, a true star on the menu, was a mouthwatering delight. Tender, succulent meat paired seamlessly with the mild sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The cornbread, subtly sweet, provided the ideal accompaniment, enhancing the overall culinary journey. The potato salad, a flavorful addition, was undeniably a big plus, leaving us savoring every moment. Not only did the food shine, but the gentlemen taking orders and crafting our culinary masterpiece were beacons of niceness and helpfulness. Their stellar customer service elevated the entire dining experience, making it one of the best I've had in a while. A heartfelt thank you for a meal that not only filled our stomachs but also warmed our hearts. Cheers to exceptional flavors and top-notch service!“

“This is our go-to place for Korean BBQ at the Public Market. It has the right ratio of value to tasty food. I wish Google would let me give half-stars because I would give it 3.5 for the food itself. The only reason it's not higher, frankly, is because I ordered the spicy BBQ chicken platter, and it was inedible. Like someone else described here, it was drowned in a tomato and sriracha spicy sauce that ruined the flavor. We'll stick to the regular chicken or pork BBQ. Also, the folks who run the place are always pleasant to me and my kids, and I appreciate that very much.“

It tasted very good though, and the rice was cooked perfectly. The Shanghai soup dumplings had great flavor. And are on the small side, you can eat them in one bite. The shrimp tempura was very crispy. The vegetable pot stickers had lots of veggies packed in like corn and spinach. The bubble tea I got just tasted like milk. It was pretty large though and I got double boba and the cheese foam. The boba was super fresh and very good.I liked that they had a bathroom but the toilet water was brown and all on the inside of the toilet was brown and it grossed me out.Though overall I def recommend!“

“I'm from the East Coast (NY) and recently my Brother in-law and I visited a few cities in the state of California. First, we spent a few days visiting family in Los Angeles and Santa Ana. At the last minute of booking the trip, my Brother in-law decided he wanted to visit an old college buddy named Roderick (Roddy) in Oakland. He mentioned that Roddy had a BBQ restaurant named Roderick's BBQ. So the plan was to fly down from Santa Ana to San Francisco, make the drive to Oakland and spend our final evening in California hanging out with Roddy at his restaurant. I didn't know what to expect because I had never met him. Well, he rolled out the red carpet along with some of the finest food (not just BBQ) you will ever have in your life. You name it, we had it, and it all tasted incredible. Ribs, Tri-Tip, BBQ Chicken, Hot Links, Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, French Fries, Mac & Cheese, and Potato Salad. The Ribs were tender and perfectly cooked, as was the BBQ Chicken. The Tri-Tip was tender and just melted in your mouth. The Hot Links had the perfect amount of flavor and heat. The fried chicken and catfish was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tasted great. The french fries had a light dusting of their in-house seasoning that was absolutely amazing. The Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese was incredible as well and to wash it all down was some of the most amazing Kool-Aid ever. The type of Kool-Aid that takes you back to your childhood. You better believe the next time I'm on the West Coast, I'm getting me some Roderick's BBQ. This place is a hidden gem and if you live in the Oakland area, you should run (not walk) to Roderick's BBQ immediately and try some of this amazing food. If you live 1-2 hours away, it's definitely worth the drive. Pull up a chair, enjoy the food, and tell Roddy that Chris and Sean sent you and he'll take good care of you. Plus, he's a great guy, a great storyteller, but he's an even better cook.Kudos to Roderick's BBQ!!!“

“HUGE portions and quiet ambiance. The restaurant is usually moderately empty (at least every time I have been there) so service is quite fast. I know Don Blanc does not have the trendy/hip factor that Oghane provides, but I have always had a great time dining in.Restaurant layout is very standard Korean BBQ - with large tables and grills in the middle. Some of the tables have a large cast iron grill that's reminiscent of cooking on a large rock, which is kind of fun. We always get either the Beef Set A bbq or the Pork Set B bbq, so cannot speak to the other menu items. The side dishes (banchan) that role out are so delightful--particularly the steamed egg (reminds me of my mom's cooking). As far as quantity of meat--you will not be disappointed. I have always returned home with leftovers.Eventually I will order the traditional bbq intestines, but I have not had to courage to do so yet...Parking can be quite tricky especially on weekends because everyone is fighting to get a spot for either Moo Bong Ri/Koryo Sushi/Jaguar Karaoke. I appreciate the security guard who works there because he sometimes provides valet-esque type services and allows people to double park cars or park unmarked areas. I have also always been able to find street parking.Overall, if you ride up to Moo Bong Ri and find that the wait time is just too long and you are just too hungry, I suggest you pop over to Don Blanc. You will not be disappointed.“

BBQ chicken was nicely flavored and tender as well as their BBQ short ribs. They tried to be healthy with cabbage on the bottom and broccoli on each corner. I ate the veggies with the abundant meat. Macaroni salad was on point. Spam musubi and lumpias were added and nice starters. Portions are generous.Recommended spot - especially when feeding a village party!“

“I've had this place bookmarked for 3 months and finally got the chance to go. After reading reviews, I went early and started lining up at 11:40am and there was already ~20 parties ahead of us. Once they opened, someone came out with brisket samples. It took about an hour til we were ordering. I've never had Texas BBQ so I can't compare but the meats were so good!! The brisket was fatty, smoky, and well seasoned. The beef back ribs were a little smokier also delicious. The bbq sauce and pickled onions made for the perfect bite, along with the sides. The nasi goreng was a pretty standard fried rice that paired with the meat but I wouldn't get it again. The slaw is refreshing and was very peanutty but I wish it was a little more acidic. The rendang plate was a miss for me. The brisket was very dry and it was too smoky for my liking for a curry. I LOVED the kale curry side in the plate though. I don't like kale but I would eat it all the time if it was always cooked like this lol. I suggest getting the belado plate to try a different meat. I would definitely come back and wait an hour again and try the rest of their menu. :)“

“I've been coming here for over 10 years. It's my favorite Korean restaurant. The banchan is always fresh and delicious, plus they give you lots of them. There are a good amount of additional items you can get with all you can eat, we usually get the kimchi pancake, corn cheese (sounds weird but it's good) and maybe the pan fried dumplings. My favorite are the boneless marinated short ribs and bulgogi and my friend likes the brisket. The meat is good quality and you can tell they make everything in house. Yeah, it's not super cheap but it's the same price as other similar places or hot pot.For delivery I usually get the rice cake and dumpling soup. It's so good! And makes me feel better if I'm getting sick. You still get banchan and rice with delivery, so if you think about it with all the delicious side dishes included it's a pretty good deal.I still see the same owners as when I first started going here, I'm glad it's still in the same hands. It's consistently good. The one thing I'm not as fond of is the fried chicken.. it's not crispy.Service is good, sometimes they forget something.. but it's not a big deal, just remind them or ask again. It's pretty busy sometimes so it's impressive they remember all the different things people ask for refills for...Parking isn't great, but I always find a spot within a couple blocks. People mention the area is dicey at night. It's not that bad. Not as good as ten years ago, but just don't leave stuff in your car (like the rest of Oakland) and you'll be fine.“

“Located in the old Chinese Express spot (RIP) -- this place is clean and fast! Generous portions, and they have mini plates if you want less food. I imagine it's great for students living around there. Tried it on a whim, as I was really craving some chicken katsu. The only reason I am giving four stars and not five is because the chicken katsu sauce was lose money.... a total miss. It was watery, and didn't taste at all like the ketchup + worcestershire sauce mixture that katsu sauce is supposed to taste like. It was just weird. No big deal -- I just made my own -- but this is a critical part of a chicken katsu plate! Please fix this, Moku BBQ, so that people can properly enjoy chicken katsu. Otherwise, I was satisfied (as satisfied as I can reasonably expect to be, eating "Hawaiian BBQ" anywhere outside of Hawaii). If you're from Hawaii and want to eat katsu, you can get some passable katsu here -- but be prepared to make your own sauce.“

Highly recommended for the barbecue. I'm going to go back and try some of the other things!“

“Chef Li's is a great place to go for a quick bite or even a family dinner. The place is like a typical Chinese take out restaurant with options running from roasted pig to roasted duck or soy sauce chicken and everything in between. I usually order ahead of schedule and ordering 3 entrees takes about 15 minutes, 20 at most. They are very efficient and I never get wrong orders.“

“This is my go to spot before/after every time my family flies out of OAK or is picking someone up from there. My kids love the gyoza, chicken karage, and bibimbap. I love all the meats! I signed up for the Gyu Kaku rewards program and always get a free item whether it’s an order of smores or meat, or the best one is 25% off up to $25. For three adults and two kids, we can have a dinner with appetizers, salad, and everyone wishing they wore elastic waistband pants for around $130. Super great value considering the quality of the food and meats! The service is always speedy and the staff are very nice. We park in the lot across the street for about $5-10 flat and have never felt unsafe in the area (even with my 9 and 5 year old in tow). Reservations are always easy and many walk in without them and are seated promptly. Great job Oakland Gyu Kaku!“

“I lived in Austin for a long time, so I'm familiar with the style Stay Gold is aiming for. They do a good job! I wouldn't rate it top tier vs some of the places you have around Central Texas, but it's solid.Huge portion of really good brisket! I was actually surprised how much meat I got for the price. Very generous, especially by Bay Area standards! The only minus I would give them is: I'd prefer more onion. But that's a minor quibble. So the food is great. Also I give this place a top atmosphere rating. It's down to earth and unpretentious, a genuine dive.As a bonus, they host live music and--one of the best events in the Bay--Oakland Drunken Film Festival.Long live Stay Gold!“

“This restaurant has friendly staff, and a clean interior. Their dishes are very flavorful, however when I order take out, the food is so hot it begins to melt the bottoms of the to go containers. The food is also placed in a plastic bag, which fortunately catches the sauces that leak out. If they were to invest in higher quality containers I believe this problem could be alleviated.“

“Really great food for good prices. The service was really good.....just a bit slow since one guy was seating, serving, and making drinks (on a Saturday night.....someone didn't show for their shift) He did amazing, though. Our order consisted of the brisket plate, brisket sandwich, and brisket chili cheese fries. The BBQ sauces were legit. Their tap beers were perfectly poured and served at at the right temps. We will definitely go back to try more items in their menu.“
