Juanita & Maude's is one of our all time favorite Bay Area restaurants, and not that we live out of state we make a point to eat here whenever we're back for a visit. Their menu is always changing, as well as their specialty cocktail list which makes it a new experience every time. It has a very warm neighborhood feel, and if you get a chance to eat in the back patio area you would never know you're steps away from the busy San Pablo Avenue in the middle of Albany!

J&M's is hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's phenomenal, sometimes it's just good. On our most recent visit the hits were the cocktails and the appetizers - all of them were absolutely perfect. I could have eaten three of my appetizer and my husband's. My entree was good but not standout. My husband's entree - which I almost ordered - was not good at all I'm my opinion, but he loved it so it might just be me. My dessert was good but not fantastic. My husband's dessert was much better. Service is always top notch at J&M's. The atmosphere is perfect and it's never too loud. I'm glad to have this great place in our neighborhood. It's a go-to for us but I just wish I had better luck at ordering what was right for me every time we go.

We love going here for date nights. The menu is always unique and creative. We come here because the chef is taking risks(delicious risks!) let your tastebuds explore the full spectrum of flavors. It's amazing to see the array of ingredients and the ingenious takes on classics made modern and pushing boundaries. Great spot

The food here is prepared to perfection. Have been three times and always leave feeling perfectly satisfied. The back patio is very cozy even in the winter - don’t be afraid to reserve it. You’ll be toasty and happy.

The brisket was literally out of this world - heavenly! The tomato tartine to die for and the wait staff couldn't have been more perfectly attuned to our desires. The best dinner out we've had in forever!
I wish we took more photos! All the ones we took ended up being blurry but...HOLY. We absolutely love the food here and it was the perfect get together for a friend's celebration. We felt very welcomed and the food was phenomenal from appetizer to dessert. We had a large party and ordered a wide variety. There is nothing we didn't like!

The owner is always doing the rounds and checking in with patrons, and the atmosphere is sophisticated dark and moody but cozy and homey at the same time, great for an elegant date night. So surprised they don't have a Michelin ⭐
