I had the best avocado toast and a delicious coffee while sitting at a table on the sidewalk in front of the kitchenette. Everything was glorious. I also bought a loaf of banana bread to bring home, which I expect will hit the senses in a just-as-amazing way.

My partner and I were looking for a place to grab lunch after walking around the Berkeley Rose Garden area, and this place was at the top of Yelp's recommendations for us. While it was a lot smaller than I was expecting, and with an unusual way of doing seating, what we ordered was tasty, fresh, not overly heavy, interesting, and extremely reasonably priced. The Ambiance: this is a small cafe with a relationship with the brew pub next door (Ocean View Brew Works). Kitchenette is tiny, and has no indoor seating of its own (a small table and two chairs sits outside of it), you are directed to take your table number into the pub next door if you want to be seated inside, or in the pub's spacious outdoor patio. The atmosphere is funky and cozy, and very informal. You can order a tea or water from either the kitchenette or the pub, or order a kombucha, cider or beer with your lunch from Ocean View Brew Works.Food: We had the mushroom toast with soft boiled egg on top, and the Autumn Harvest (?, I think that's what it was called) panini. Toast was perfect, mushrooms well seasoned and a little garlicky, and egg perfectly cooked. Panini had a great mix of crunchy veggies, purple cabbage slaw, and meat. Bread for both items tasted fresh and yummy. I'd definitely came back again with a group to eat here, and have drinks at Ocean View.

Love this place! Great place to grab a quick lunch to go or snacks if you’re drinking at Oceanview next door. Great service and great food. The folks here are lovely.

What a delightful little spot. I got the Big Easy, which was delicious and Carrie who runs the place is one of the nicest business owners in the Bay! Plus, it's extremely well priced. Worth a stop!

Though the food took a while to be ready on a Saturday afternoon, it was outstanding. My husband had the tuna sandwich, which was neither fishy nor predictable. My hot dog with caramelized onions and blue cheese was subtle and delicious. (My only recommendation would be for them to use a firmer bun with so much topping; it was really messy.) The fries were perfect- not so garlicky that you're tasting it hours after. And the shakes were excellent- flavorful and rich. Eager to go back!

The food was delicious--down-to-earth but still a little elevated. Loved the strawberry milkshake with chunks of strawberry. The owner was super friendly. We'll definitely be back!

I'm addicted to this place. This is amazing quality, delicious food in the East Bay. My new go-to spot in the East Bay If you like Bartavelle, Standard Fare, or Chez Panisse, you'll love Kitchenette!Make sure to try their baguette/focaccia sandwiches, whether it be their veggie sandwiches that make vegetables crave worthy or their italian sausage loaf sandwich! Food is made with attention to detail, like buttering up the baguette to my sandwich and making a homemade herb mayonnaise. Every time I come to Kitchenette every section of my sandwich tastes so good, whether it be the lemon dressed brussel sprouts or the crisped to perfection bread.Wonderful, welcoming, and warm ambience. Veronica and her mother are so sweet and the space is lovely and put together with so much thought.

This place AMAZING. The food is fresh and delicious. It’s a cozy place to get a bite and treats, not to mention the warm owners who are an adorable mother and daughter team! Highly recommend checking this place out — so excited for their new toasts!

I highly recommend this spot! The food is so fresh and incredibly tasty. I can't wait to go back for another panini sandwich- with a side of house made pickles that are to die for! Such a savory and satisfying lunch. And it is run by the nicest people you will ever meet. Take my advice- you will love it.

My Wife and I were greeted with smiles and service from Carrie and Veronica. Family run crafted eatery that gives detail to eye appeal and flavor. We were impressed how they go so many items on our lil' charcuterie platter. We got one of each and shared. With the beer from next doors pub (also family) we were stuffed, but pleasantly so. Its always a please to meet people that enjoy their work and customers. Cheers. It was delish.

The food is always fresh and delicious. The flavor combinations are creative and take something basic -like a panini, bagel, or hot dog and make it amazing! Plus, there are many other woman-owned small businesses as part of the operation. Ceramics made onsite to serve the food, Kaveri Coffee and MandalaSF floral arrangements. The kitchen also caters food for private events in the clandestine courtyard or you can take some nextdoor to Ocean View Brew Works.

Their panini sandwiches are easily the best around town. And when paired with the delicious Kaveri coffee that they serve, it's a delicious combination. A real hidden . Highly recommended!
