Went to dinner with a few of my lady friends after seeing a show in the city, this was the perfect ending to a phenomenal day. I had the crab cakes and they were delish, a couple of people in my group had the fried chicken/fried catfish combo and that looks delicious as well. I highly recommend Lizzy’s Cajun Cafe.
I walked by one night, just 30 minutes before their closing time. The takeout counter on the side of the restaurant was open. I asked what was available as they seemed to be wrapping up for the night. The chefs told me only a couple of things were available. However, a moment later, they generously offered to make whatever we wanted. So heartwarming! We ended up ordering their freshly made jambalaya and shrimp & grits, on the chef's suggestion. The service at this place really touched me. Such warm and thoughtful people. The jambalaya had a beautiful complexity and just the right heat, and the fried shrimp had a lovely texture.
