This was our first time dining here after hearing great reviews from a friend. Mainly, the food wasn't fresh tasting. We ordered our rolls, took a couple of bites, and then we immediately asked for the check. We actually found it weird that no one questioned if everything was okay so soon after receiving our food.

I really like the sushi rolls and the calm atmosphere at Sumo. Hot tea and miso soup to start on a rainy evening. It was my first time having the GoGo roll, with shrimp, avocado, cucumber and DF asparagus... give it a try! The baked scallop roll is a warm savory treat as well.

My friend made reservations for us here and the restaurant was very accommodating! The people here were very attentive and super pleasant which made the whole experience just absolutely great! The restaurant had a good trendy vibe and I liked the interior wall arts. We loved their nigiris especially their scallops and salmon which all of them were fresh and perfectly cut. Quite attentive service and overall, I loved everything about this restaurant in terms of food, the price, service, and they have parking which is always a plus. Will definitely come back and try different dishes off of their menu. Highly recommend!

Sumo has a great selection of delicious sushi! The owners are great and provide excellent service every time we visit. They conveniently have a parking spot right by the restaurant. The location is easy to get to. The whole essence of the restaurant feels very homey, cozy, and welcoming.

Sumo is easily one of the best sushi restaurants in the Bay Area! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is fantastic and the food is absolutely delicious. The fish is consistently the star of the show every time I come here- each bite simply melts in my mouth! Some of my favorites are Agedashi Tofu, Baked Mussels, Bento boxes, Sashimi, Orange blossom roll and also the Sumo special roll is a must try item on the menu. Great selection of drinks and desserts as well. The quality of the food and the care of preparation is great!!

Not customer friendly. I had something in my throat when I got sitting in the table. I started coughing and nobody came to ask me if I wanted water. I stand up and went to the front table to ask for water, I told them I had something in my throat and need water asap to help myself. THEY TOLD ME TO GO HAVE A SIT AND THAT THEY WILL BRING ME WATER LATAER, it took them 5 minutes to come just to ask again if I needed water. (I already went to the restroom and drink from there)
This is not a dramatic situation or anything like that, but I just can say that people here are not customer friendly.

Sushi quality is high, really enjoyable experience.The sashimi was excellent, the salmon nigiri, the unagi nigiri were excellent. The dragon roll and California roll were perfect.Highly recommend you giving this placr a try.
