We enjoyed an amazing breakfast at the restaurant with a wonderful view. The place was beautifully designed and offered a healthy menu. Special thanks to Cody for the excellent service

I tried to contact the hotel directly before leaving a public review. I tried 2 different methods and have waited over a month but have gotten zero response.
At $500/night, I expect better.
1. The bathrobe was dirty.
2. The water kettle was full of the last guests tea
3. There were what looked like bodily fluid stains on both chairs (easily could be steamed out)
4. The paper tissue box had greasy hand prints on it (gross! just replace it!)
5. Breakfast is no longer included,, which I can understand but it was a sweet perk.
This used to be my favorite place to stay on the coast. I will not be retuning.

Terrible Experience – Do Not Recommend

My recent stay at Mendocino Coast Lodge was one of the most disappointing travel experiences I’ve ever had. We weren’t even allowed to check in until 4 PM, which was frustrating enough, but things only went downhill from there. The room was dirty upon arrival, with an overall feeling of poor maintenance and neglect. The so-called “oceanfront view” they advertised was completely misleading—our balcony view was blocked by overgrown bushes, making it impossible to see the ocean at all.

To make matters worse, the fireplace in the room didn’t work, the beds and sheets were extremely uncomfortable, and we had to deal with constant noise from the upstairs neighbors’ voices late into the night. The overall atmosphere was more like a neglected roadside motel than a coastal lodge.

For the price we paid, this was unacceptable. False advertising, lack of cleanliness, poor comfort, and late check-in made for an unpleasant stay. I would never return and do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Utterly gorgeous location - really couldn't be a more stunning location.

I booked this for 2 nights for our mini moon after our wedding and had cottage 2. I was disappointed with the lack of detail.
We noticed streaked glass, staining on the sheets, cracks in the bathtub vinyl, terrible coffee we couldn't even drink, slow wifi, our neighbors able to look right into our room so blinds needed to be closed, and poor quality bath products. We were told we had a wood burning fire which I love, but it was a click to start gas. Free breakfast and local coffee were mentioned in other reviews, and that was not the case ( looks like possible change of management?). Everyone was friendly, just wasn't the luxury vibe we were going for.

We enjoyed a breathtaking view from this beautiful, cozy room with charming old-world style. Although the stay was on the pricier side, the spectacular view truly made it worth every penny. The only minor downside was that the room didn't have a TV. Overall, a wonderful experience! Can’t wait to see you again!

Had a great weekend stay here. Rooms are nicely remodeled. Comfortable bed and amazing views from each room. The onsite restaurant is tasty and reasonably priced with a great view as well.

A great idea sadly unable to deliver through mismanagement.

If you're looking for a cottage that overlooks the ocean, then you've found your place. However, if you want anything more than that, I would pause to consider other options.

Important hotel things to note: these rooms DO NOT have TVs. I know that's fine for some, but others might want to relax in their rooms (if you're anything like me on a vacation). You'll have a great view to look at, but at night, you'll be doing almost nothing. And if you think you can use their WiFi to pass the evening time, think again:

NO CELL SERVICE here. And the provided WiFi takes 1-3 minutes to load a web page. For all intents and purposes, there is no WiFi here. Download movies and shows before you get here and thank me later.

Our experience here was overshadowed by no available parking (despite parking supposedly included in the reservation) and the inability to try the onsite restaurant. When we attempted to try Terra Mar, the host told us that we should leave as he was overwhelmed by the amount of guests (at the time, only 6/40 tables were taken).

Other reviews state that the cabins are old and weathered. This is true, but its part of their charm. In a couple years, they may indeed need a facelift, but right now they're fairly rustic and that's fine.

We paid for the most expensive room, didn't have amenities that even the most basic hotels would provide, and had to fight for our own parking. I would not recommend this hotel, despite the fact that it has potential to be an absolute gem.

This hotel is a great place to stay at, especially if you're looking for a quiet location. Most of the rooms are stand alone units and they have fairly private decks. The view of the ocean is beautiful the only thing that's not so great about this place is the fact that there's not too many stores or restaurants close to this location, but they do have a nice restaurant on the property that has a great wine and whiskey list and a great atmosphere.

It was a great stay. We had a private porch to walk out on, and we were able to walk across the yard for a panoramic view of the ocean and view the sunset from the bedside window. I would highly recommend this place, and I would definitely go back.

Not a great stay. The facilities were less than to be desirable for. The room had a musty and humid smell to it. The windows did not allow for a ocean view as they were small, not clean and stuck in a corner. The parking lot was small inconvenient and the service was overall not nice. I would not recommend this stay if you have the option to in the Albion in Mendocino area. The stay was also far from the main attractions where it required a 15 to 20 minute drive.

We have always wanted to stay here. The view from our room was amazing. It is cozy. The rooms could use some updating or more of a cozy feel, but they were clean and nice. Love that there is no TV. Love that the restaurant is right here and it is tasty.

I’m reluctant to review to keep it all to myself but if they can share so can I! Amazing place, Isa and the entire staff are so welcoming and accommodating and wow, the property - views and cottages - are exactly what I wanted for a weekend away. 5555 stars!

Extremely beautiful lodge with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Very pricey food.
