The noodle quality was not bad. We went 30 mins before closing so had to chow down quickly.😅

A good spot for some authentic congee and noodles, just like in Asia.
My Seafood Congee had a generous portion of seafood and the rice-water ratio was on point. It just needs the Chinese Doughnut to complement the dish.
Service is minimal and perfunctory. The open kitchen lets you see how your food is prepared. The feeling when I walked in was just like going back to the vintage restaurants in Asia. You're here for the good food, not service or decor.

I got very bad stomach flu problems after eating their chicken congee. I had difficulties for over the last 2 days. I will never come here again

The wonton was huge and tasty but only has 4 per bowl 😄

Parking: Front side of the restaurant face Valley & you can see the restaurant name - The Congee.
From the parking lot, you won't be able to see the restaurant name but look for the big poster of the food

The overall environment of this porridge and noodle shop is simple and clean. After trying their wonton noodles, I found that their wonton noodles were bland, unpleasant and chewy, just like the most ordinary cheap goods. As for the wontons, there are four wonton noodles in a bowl. They are quite large and contain shrimp and pork. Unfortunately, there is no umami flavor in the mouth, which is not satisfactory for Cantonese tastes. In addition, the beef brisket is only average, but the fermented bean curd lettuce tastes good. I have seen this restaurant rated highly on Google, but the name is too good. .

Some of the fried dumplings we had today were sour. Fortunately, my daughter didn’t eat them!

Excellent shrimp wonton noodle soup. The wonton has whole shrimp that is seasoned and cooked perfectly and the noodles have the right amount of chew.

I often order beef brisket noodles, pork liver noodles and seafood and abalone porridge. I also ordered wonton noodles, fried chicken wings, beef brisket noodles, and shrimp noodles. Overall, they were very good. At first, I felt that the noodles had too much stinky powder, but I have improved the last few times I went there. The MSG in the porridge was too strong, so there was really no need to add it. The raw materials were already very fresh. The shrimp noodles were too salty and there was too much shrimp skin. The quality of the rapeseed heart is always very good, tender and sweet. It is the best Cantonese porridge and noodle restaurant in Los Angeles. Been eating it for more than ten years.

This place has some of the best congee I've had on the west coast. The seafood congee was very well balanced and had a generous amount of variety.
