Going to El Vaquerito the past few days has been feeding me heart, mind, and spirit. This family owned restaurant serving good old fashioned, home cooked Mexican means is a star in Alhambra for me. I recently decided to walk away from domestic violence where I'm from---one of the most difficult parts of that decision is to eat food that I thought I could only eat at home. My husband and I tried this place for the first time today. I was VERY disappointed with my torta. Honestly the worst I've ever had. It reminded me of eating a sloppy joe. The burritos were okay. Horchata was good and people were nice but I definitely wouldn't come back.

To be fair, I'm no expert on tacos, but these were amazing. The taste was refreshing and the meat as delicate as it comes :) Got some for supper and just had to get more for breakfast on the next day :D
