I've been wanting to try the southeast Asian food here for so long, and I'm glad I got the chance to recently! They earned the Michelin bib gourmand award for a couple years. They're also all over social media. I think the fact that they're so popular makes it hard to get seated here, and their hours were hard for me to work with (they're closed Wednesdays). The restaurant is hard to spot because they're within a medical/business building. You have to enter the driveway from a busy street and then right away make a U-turn to park underground. There is a stairway that connects the underground parking lot with the upstairs.I was here with only one other person, so we were able to get seated quickly. Between the two of us, we started with the roti canai with chicken curry (the server convinced us that it tasted better than the roti canai without curry) and the kaya toast with butter (again, the server convinced us that it tasted better with butter). Both indeed were very tasty. The curry chicken with the roti may have been unnecessary though. Then I had the dry wanton mee w curry chicken N1 $13.95. This curry chicken was delicious with the dark meat. I think they were very generous with the amount of noodles. My eating partner's Singapore style hainan chicken rice R1 $14.95 was ok, she said. To me it seemed like there was not a lot of chicken, but it is their signature dish/best seller.I would come back to try their other dishes and perhaps what they call white coffee. I might skip on the toast in the future because that's not really a meal to me.

Great food for a reasonable price. Wait times will average between 20 to 40 minutes depending on how busy they are. Lunch times are busiest. Would recommend their toast as an appetizer and bring a few people to try out as many of their dishes. The staff were busy and the check in was organized. Make sure everyone is with you when they call your name or they will not seat you.

Ipoh Kopitiam offers an exceptional dining experience that won't break the bank!Despite my limited knowledge of Malaysian cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised by the familiar flavors reminiscent of its neighboring countries. If you're a fan of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, or Indonesian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit.The ambiance is modest yet coz, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal. The staff is warm and welcoming, adding to the overall inviting atmosphere. However, the true highlight is undeniably the food. Each dish is expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors that leave a lasting impression. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of noodles or adventurous enough to try something new, Ipoh Kopitiam delivers an outstanding culinary experience that won't disappoint. Some stand out dishes for me are the dry Wonton with curry chicken, toast with Kaya and butter, and the Malaysian white coffee. But honestly, everything was delicious and you really can't go wrong.Ipoh Kopitiam is truly deserving of its Michelin Bib Gourmand awards and I can't wait to visit again!

I don't know if I came on an off day but the food wasn't good. The rice and chicken in my nasi lemak was dry, the char kway teow was bland, and the beef rendang was mediocre. The milk tea and roti were also just ok.

Yummy food and excellent service.......Tiffany and Kay, as well all the other employees are the people that make you feel special with their attentive service. The Singapore Hainan chicken, Nasir Lemak with curry chicken/beef, Bak kut teh, are some of my favorites.

If you want authentic Singaporean/Malaysian food, this is the spot. We tried dining here last weekend, however, failed to realize how poppin’ this place is. Wait time was around 30-60 minutes during lunch time but do not underestimate how much people they are able to serve. So today (literally still here), we booked as we were on our way to minimize the wait. We got seated quick and started to order.Everything looks good so we ordered as much as we can. From the moment we sat down to the moment we got our food was literally less than 10 minutes. If I only counted from the moment we ordered, food started coming in after 3 minutes or so (if you ordered from the Rice menu). That was insanely fast.Despite how fast it got served, the savory-ness of the food was godsend. I literally remembered my time in Singapore when I visited there a few times and this place brought me back.I can say nothing negative about this place. It’s literally Malaysia that got brought to LA

Best service, fast, clean and prompt. Lot of underground parking. Expect a line during lunch and dinner. Go on odd hours to avoid line. The food is very very good. I loved all the dishes we ordered. I would definitely be back for more.

This Malaysian joint, with some Singaporean dishes, put out some super tasty food! We're Indonesians (Indo cuisine is very similar), and we were impressed! We ordered: Kaya Toast w/ butter, Roti Canai, Nasi Lemak, Hainan Chicken Rice, and Char Kway Teow, and everything was delicious. We especially loved the chicken curry in the nasi lemak dish, and the Hainan chicken was suuuper tender. The trio of sauces were on point, and we eapecially loved the ginger garlic sauce. So good! The Kaya Toast with butter was good, if maybe a tad too thick on the butter. I kind of wish it was a thinner, flatter slather of butter in between the bread. The Roti Canai was good, but the curry would have been better with rice than the roti pratha. The curry was more Indian-inspired. We recommend the Roti Canai at Toko Rame, an Indonesian mom n pop in Bellflower -- much tastier there. We also ordered the Malaysian black coffee (hot), and the Malaysian milk tea, both hot and cold. The drinks were just OK. Nothing like the real teh tarik (pulled tea) they serve in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.Service was fast, attentive, and efficient. Prices are reasonable. The place is casual with ample seating both inside and outside.Parking is free in a small lot, or in the underground garage, which has 2 levels. Both free.Satisfied and ready to return for more good food!

5 stars for the roti alone. Brought me right back to Malaysia. Get the normal one—the chicken curry is ok but the normal curry that comes with the roti is legit.

The hainan chicken was bomb! Must get, very tender and juicy. The Buk Kit Teh was very flavorful, hard to drink on its own without rice or the Chinese donut. But service here was a little weird , our server she keep trying to pressure us to order their milk tea or coffee. When we already said we’re good. My friend did end up getting pressured to order a milk tea , and it wasn’t good. Better off getting boba milk tea elsewhere. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday a little before 11am, had to wait for about 10mins to get seated
