I found Monte’s in Alhambra just poking around for something to eat one day. I live pretty close and had no idea it was there. Walked in, looked at the menu, and immediately knew this was my kind of place. Alexis runs the show here, and he and the rest of the crew are great, friendly, fast, and you can tell they actually care about the food. Everything on the menu looks solid, but I went with the first sandwich on the hot list the Legendary Chopped Cheese. It did not disappoint....
Came for lunch and got the All-American Cheesesteak. Wait was about 8 minutes. Mostly bread but filling was yummy. $0.50 extra to add peppers. Overall this a 6.5-7/10. Decent flavor but not coming back
I've been looking for a place near me that sells chopped cheese for years and I've finally found it. It's a 20 min drive for me just to get there, but its well worth the trip. My wallet will never be the same because of this place.
