Ordered the cheese over meatball, pork belly, waygu beef, chicken thigh, corn, potato, shitaki mushroom with pork belly, asparagus with pork belly, cheese egg roll, calamari, squid skewers, bacon over fishcake with cheese, and satsuma ramen. I would pass on all items with cheese. Recommending the pork belly and ramen. Pineapple sake was good and would recommend if you like sweet sake. Service was excellent.

My family and I come here often for dinner but usually during weekends when it gets packed. We went on a Wednesday evening and there were just a handful of tables with customers. We ordered a few items from their happy hour menu. Perhaps because it wasn't very busy, their yakitori was perfectly cooked. The pork cutlet curry rice was very good as usual; the cutlet was so crispy and the pork was juicy. My son also enjoyed the ramen.

No drink specials. Closes at 11. Came here on a Friday at 930pm
Good food, worth a try. Nestled in a very walkable area with free parking.

It was for my friend's birthday, but ended up they didn't know so I had to mention it at the end. Food was very good but it could even better if slightly larger portions. I am glad that they are serving ramen again!
My three kids and I walked in through the back door. The restaurant had over 10 available tables.
We were looking for seats, and a server allowed me to sit in one of the chairs. Then the server leader came over and said we couldn’t sit at that table without checking in at the front desk. He was rude and repeated twice, “I am the host.”
I said, “Okay, I can check in.”
He replied, “No need — you guys always sit there.”
After that, no server came to help us. I felt like they didn’t want me there. My kids were hungry, and I didn’t want to leave.

Got the yakatori lunch special. The chicken & green onion and the kobe beef were the best tasting ones. Comes with a salad, miso soup, and rice. I've had better miso broth elsewhere. Everything else was delicious. Most importantly the beer on tap was NOT flat 😂 so thank you for that 🙏 Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Place has an open floor plan, lots of space inside and the patio would be cool at night I bet. I know this is typically a Ramen place but the skewers just looked so good in the pictures. I would come again for sure.

Restaurantji Recommends
I made a reservation for four people at Shinsengumi. There were multiple 4-person tables available, but Grace, the hostess, tried to seat us at a table tucked away in a corner. When I asked for a different table, she made an excuse, saying it was “reserved,” even though all the tables looked the same. When I questioned what the difference was, she couldn’t give a clear answer and told us we would have to wait another 15 minutes while they reset a table.
While we were waiting, Grace seated two other groups of four — who didn’t even seem to have reservations — before us.
After finally being seated, we realized that water was leaking from the ceiling above the table, and we ended up stuck at a weird corner spot we didn’t want.
To be fair, the other staff members were very friendly and the food was great — exactly what we expected from Shinsengumi.
It’s just unfortunate that Grace ruined an otherwise great experience. Honestly, if it weren’t for her, I would love to come back.

Great lunch! Wonderful food and service, the staff worked well together and were very helpful!
Not a fan of the deep-fried gyoza. They were nearly burnt, and the outside had a bad taste. Wouldn't recommend.

I was looking for a traditional Japanese restaurant for my 93 year old mother she enjoyed it.
