Very Good rendeng - really flavourful less wet kind - nasi bungus is solid - fried tempeh is such a good deal you get so many .

This is one of the restaurants that gets unnoticed for not having enough review or marketing. I saw some pictures, looked tasty so I wanted to try out. Food is so good that I forgot to take all the pics. This place is ran by a strong single woman of color who cooks, cleans, and manages everything all by herself. Food is fresh, healthy, tasty, and unique. They owner is really nice. I 100% recommend this place. I will definitely come back. I hope all the best to the owner and her business.

The dishes are pretty authentic. We tried several of the dishes and we liked them. The service is also very good. The restaurant was not too crowded when we were there. Overall, pretty good Indonesian food.

Truly one of the best restaurants in LA!! A gem hidden in plain sight, the only Indonesian restaurant here that rivals and exceeds what you can find in Jakarta. We usually order take out but the dining room is lovely and parking is always a breeze. The Nasi Bungkus is my absolute fav, it's a feast wrapped in a banana leaf that never disappoints. The prices are fair for the top tier quality of the food. You must try this place if you're in search of authentic, gourmet Indonesian cuisine!!

One of the best nasi bungkus (wrapped rice) in Los Angeles, with generous portions.
Nasi bungkus is rice with a mix of side dishes, wrapped in banana leaves and covered with brown paper, similar to Padang rice.

Wait time was a bit long but worth it. Their nasi goreng could use a bit more flavor but the Es Alpukat was quite good.

We had such a satisfying meal at Wayang Restaurant Halal. Everything was flavorful, generously portioned, and clearly made with care.

The nasi kuning komplit was beautifully presented, with fragrant turmeric rice and a mix of sides that balanced each other well, especially the egg and perkedel, which stood out.

The sambal mercon absolutely lives up to its name: pedas, rich, and addicting. It woke up the palate without overpowering anything and paired perfectly with the rice.

The satay kambing was tender and juicy, with a nice bit of char and a savory-sweet peanut sauce that brought everything together.

The ayam nasi goreng felt like comfort food at its best, well-seasoned chicken and fried rice that had that nostalgic, homestyle flavor.

We’ll definitely be back to try more, this spot brings the warmth and depth of Indonesian food in every bite!

The staff were very friendly, and the food was quite good. I just recently returned from a trip out to Indonesia and the beer rendang tasted just like what I had on my trip.

Got recommended this place by my coworker and have to say this has become one of my top 10 restaurants in the city now. I make it an effort to tell other people about this restaurant or take them here because it’s just that good.

The food is excellent. I’ve had Mie Goreng, Nasi Bungkus, Salted fish bean sprouts salad, and Nasi Kuning Komplit. Mie Goreng is my favorite/ go-to dish. Such deep flavors!

I also love the Empal Gepuk beef, which you can get separately or with the rice plates.

Service is good and quick. Very chill casual ambience. They also offered free soup by the counter when I went, which was tasty & refreshing. Honestly I have a lot of appreciation for this spot and hope nothing but the best for them!
