Absolutely outstanding food - we had the tomatoes + burrata, crudo, striped bass, ny strip steak, gnocchi, and cobbler. Everything was excellent, but the tomatoes, gnocchi, cobbler were my favorites. My partner kept saying “this is the best _____ I’ve ever had”. I think he said that about the tomatoes and gnocchi. Service was so good and atmosphere is lovely. One *hot* tip: make sure you’re not seated at the counter in front of the fire. It’s very hot there and we asked to move outside. If you love All Time as much as we do this restaurant will not disappoint. We will definitely be back!

My party of three dined early on a Sunday night. We sat at the bar which was entertaining when watching the cooks, albeit it was a bit warm. We ordered the crudo, focaccia with goat cheese, Tomahawk Rib Eye steak, cabbage, carrots, and topped it all off with Betsy’s cobbler. The crudo was very tangy and fresh and the Focaccia with goat cheese was wonderful. The Tomahawk steak was the star of the meal and cooked to perfection. The cabbage and carrots were flavorful but unfortunately they were quite over salted which really took away from the enjoyment. We gulped quite a bit of water afterwards. The Betsy’s cobbler dessert was very underwhelming as it was more like a yellow cake with berry jam sparsely spread within. It is not the standard fruit loaded faire we generally presume encompasses a cobbler. The restaurant was small and filled to capacity inside and outside but we received very good service. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant but suggest you request your dishes are lightly salted and skip the “cobbler”.

I feel like I’m walking into a renaissance painting (the deep, quiet ones) of a restaurant when I eat there, the foods only competition is a resourceful grandma who cooks up a storm daily for loved ones as her life’s purpose. You can share, or not. The booth seat is comfy, the counter seat with the fire burning is hypnotic. The staff are darling.

We loved the food and the service but the music was soooo LOUD that it was IMPOSSIBLE to have a conversation. Not just me. I watched others at surrounding tables leaning forward and cupping their ears. All of the tables are small so you’re only 18 or 24 inches away . I hate loud noise and when we’re spending close to $300 for 2 people and I want to enjoy being with whom I’m with. Not being drowned out by very, very, very, very LOUD music. I’m giving it a 1 because I missed out on the intention of the meal - a great conversation and connection. I wanted out of there. Pick outside dining? Go to Miyas if you want great food, service, and experience to support Altadena. Betsy disappoints!

A beautiful and small restaurant that offers everything for a great meal out. Our server was exceptionally attentive, the atmosphere is cozy yet energetic, and the food was delicious.

Foodie heaven. High quality ingredients, many dishes cooked or finished over wood fire coals. Make a reservation and leave you kids at home.

Upon stepping into the world that is Betsy, one is met with caramel tones and a lovely open fun energy. Flames in the center of the space are well tamed by the cuisine artists who are working to make this food truly beautiful for us who are present. The menu is a perfect amount of items and the design of the menu is smart as it's just one long list blending from the top of the meal all the way thru the entrees into the desert options. Everything pairs well with everything and that's very smart. We shared and were inspired to share the Goat cheese plate / the tomatoes and fresh burrata. They both feature perfectly paired bread which is tinged with slight blackened around the edges and this connects these dishes in a beautiful and new way. The cauliflower is not only amazing but it’s also a ‘sprouting’ variation which with just the right amount of sea salt, it makes one savory each bite.
The Gnocchi is one of a kind and dressed with lemon pepper and butter and when enjoying it one can tell this is different and almost how one would curated sea scallops while also simultaneously being a smart and savory foreshadowing of desert. For dessert order both the Cheesecake which is dense in size but complex to taste. Pair this with their 'Cobbler' which unlike the pie style one is used to, this cobbler moment is absolutely a surprise as it's absolutely cornbread in nature and most memorable. The staff here is wonderful from the hostess who knows how to time the tables to the fun make server we had, the kind chef tom who came over and the effervescent server named 'Sam' she was excellent and so very welcoming to us to the upbeat and fun culture that is Betsy! We shall be back for sure and order everything we didn't this time!

Overall, the experience was just okay.. My sister made reservations for indoor dining, but we were initially seated outside. Once we pointed that out and were moved indoors, our table was in a corner, which made it SO difficult to get our server’s attention. Our main courses took an hour!! to arrive, and while the steak/potatoes were delicious, the cobbler came out cold :( The service was also lacking/distant/unfriendly, so I don’t think I’ll be back again.

A gorgeous little gem. You smell the wood-fired food coming your way before you even see it. Beautiful, well-sized plates.

The cheese plate is not some thin slices, it’s a hunk of beautiful cheese and grilled bread. The tomato salad is gorgeous even into the fall. My partner said his steak was perfect. We didn’t have room for dessert.

I would’ve loved a coffee menu, and the patio seating was a bit of a challenge at sunset as you stare right into the sun, but this is a place with a lot of heart and I hope Betsy is around for a long time.

What a gem! This staff works so well together. Our waitress Courtney couldn't have been kinder. We'll be back for sure.

Magical atmosphere with friendly staff, perfect service, and delicious food. We had the steak, tomatoes/burrata/focaccia, and gnocchi and loved it ALL. Very fair pricing for this all star experience.

This place is the REAL DEAL. I love the food and the atmosphere. They have a tight menu and one cool cat handling the proteins and another cool cat handling the vegetables -- both over a massive wood fired grill.

Don't sit at the bar if you don't like a little heat.

The quality of the food is FANTASTIC. Seriously nuts. The ambiance is super cool. Couldn't recommend it enough! :-)
