Very good carnitas tacos and chili rellano burritos. Family owned and run in Altadena-- support local business! It appears that there will soon be an expansion to the dining area (under construction).

Oh Mota's! Our Altadena neighborhood gem for sure! Great prices, wonderful food, and attentive servers. Their caldos and their aguas are amazing! They have specials for beers too. Highly recommended for our locals!

This is a chill casual restaurant. The food was tasty. Service was a bit slow and it wish they played music to make more of an ambiance. I would eat here again.

My recent visit to Mota's Mexican Restaurant left much to be desired. They offer an average Mexican dining experience that lacked flavor and seasoning. The huevos con machaca lacked the expected burst of flavor, with a noticeable absence of seasoning, rendering the dish bland and uninspiring. The huevos con machaca came with rice and beans. The beans had an unusual spice, and the Mexican rice lacked the expected flavor, contributing to an underwhelming overall meal. I ordered flour tortillas for both entrees, the machaca and pozole. They didn't get it right. The mix-up resulted with a couple of flour tortillas, tostadas, and corn tortillas. While the hand-made corn tortillas were good, they weren't what I had requested. Mota's Mexican Restaurant offers an average Mexican fare and inconsistent service. For those seeking a more reliable and flavorful Mexican meal, there are better options in the area. I recommend you try them out.

The food was very tasty and reasonably price. Love there chicken and beef soup w vegetables. The portions are in good size. There salsas are a little runny but they do have a very spicy one. Over all is good food for its value.

This is a casual restaurant. High take out especially at noon.8 booths 4 tables in the middle. I've been eating here for the last 25 years. I work in the area. Traditional mexican food. Generous portions. The wet burrito is huge generally I takesome home. Beef soup is excellent. Its casual if you want a good place to eat without all the pazza. You can eat here and be comfortable. He's also added a separate addition just waiting county approvalParking: 2 spots in the back of the restaurantGenerally plenty of street parking, never been a problem
Great authentic Mexican food. I come here for lunch at least once per month and I've yet to be disappointed!

I ordered a wet, carne asada burrito. The burrito itself was packed with the essential fillings. Crema and guac were on the side, which really kept the inside from being runny or diluted. The sauce was the perfect amount of heat. With chips+salsa and a soda, the bill was still under $15. I wasn't expecting a value like that while visiting LA, and I would be hard pressed to find as good of a value back home. It definitely satisfied my caveman hunger. Would visit again.

The only bad experience I've had is that sometimes the rice is fresh and good and other times the rice is hard like it's old or they reheated it to many times in the

I've been coming here for several years and have always enjoyed my food. Normally I get carne asada burritos but kids like their chicken tacos too. If you are nearby it is worth stopping by.

Way worse than even I remember it. A bunch of SLOP thrown together, no care, no attention to detail. Terrible quality. One step above prison food. Disgusting. Garbage. Bring us ALL of the mobile taco stands because this place is TRASH.
