I think Prime Pizza is the best New York style pizza you can get in the LA area. The pizza is really crispy, and they offer both round and square pies. You can order by the slice or get a whole pizza. My go to slices are the spicy pepperoni, classic cheese, and pepperoni. The hoagie is also very good and worth trying.
The parking lot itself is small, but street parking is easy and usually not a far walk. Beyond the food, this location feels very community driven. You can really see it with Pasadena and Altadena merch being sold and the overall neighborhood vibe from the people here.
Seating is outdoor only in a patio setup, and they have a big TV outside where they show sports, which adds to the experience. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to.

Pizzas there are good, not sure how it compares locally but for someone from Boston, this is good. Got the vodka, summer tomato (seasonal), and Sicilian. For 2 people it was a lot of pizza and it's good that they have a half and half option. I'd utilize it to get 2 different pizzas for the size of 1. Prices are pretty good for the quality of ingredients used. Ask for the pouches of cheese and pepper flakes. Just know their pepper flakes are actually spicy so their spicy pepperoni pizza is real spicy.

Prime Pizza is hands down the best pizza joint in the Pasadena area! Delicious, consistent, and clearly made with care. On top of that, the place is very well-run. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you’re craving pizza, this is the spot you can always count on.

The pizza — and especially the chicken parm sub — is absolutely delicious! My only complaint is the number of flies both inside and outside. Keeping the door closed more often and maintaining the trash bins could really help improve the dining experience

Beer, pizza by the slice, wings, garlic knots... what else would you want! Oh, and dog friendly on the patio, which is where the seating is primarily. They even have a loyalty rewards system that gives you benefits quickly. Love this place!

Horrible. Made an 80 year old and 2 year wait 1 hour and 30 mins after lying to us that it was 30 mins. Plus the shrooms are salty. You lost customers for life.

Prime Pizza Altadena is my favorite location. Besides having great pizza, you are also supporting the community as well. Location is small so parking can fill up quick. Plan B can be parking in the neighborhood across the street. Pro tip: Order by the slice if you like your crust crispy. 😉
