I was visiting from out of state and had the opportunity to eat at this hidden gem. As a foodie that has visited many different countries, islands and local food establishments, this food was like heaven! The smell and the myriad of flavors spoke to my soul!! I didn't mind waiting for fresh, hot, perfectly seasoned and crafted food. If they were open all day, I definitely would've eaten there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My only disappointment is that I don't live in the state. This is a MUST dine at spot. A special shoutout and thank you to the gracious owner for memorable meals and my friend Herb for introducing me to this place. I look forward to returning.

Catfish is light and crispy. You can tell it's cooked to order. The grits were tasty but lacking for my palate. There is quite a bit of dried seasoning dusted on top, and I'd prefer a sauce. Their coffee is also quite good. Just be careful not to tip your cup vertical, or you'll find yourself chewing on the grounds. You can tell that this place is run by a family and they care about the product they are producing. I would come back for the Catfish.

Had the shrimp and grits. They add spinach, which is a nice addition. Very friendly people.Parking: Limited parking on a very busy street

We went on a mission to search for shrimp & and grits locally around us, and I found Little Red Hen via Yelp!!! The coffee absolutely stands out for me, and that hint of cinnamon reminded me of cafe de olla. Now for the shrimp and grits, the Shrimps were cooked absolutely perfect and the grits texture and creaminess was absolutely perfect, but it was so incredibly oversalted on both of our orders that it was to the point of almost unbearable to continue eating. TONS of flavor but just too much salt. We will come back for just the plain buttered grits and some of those pancakes. And that coffee!!!

This place was a pleasant surprise. Food is cooked to order, and it was immediately apparent that lots of time and love goes into everything. Catfish and Cajun style grits were delicious! Crispy, and everything was well seasoned without being too greasy. Excited to come back and try lunch/dinner as well as the home fries and blueberry French toast.

The server was so nice and as a vegetarian I loved the cheesy grits and hashbrowns. Everything was so flavorful!

Hands down my favorite dining experience in such a long time! Soul food at its finest! You absolutely taste how much love goes into each dish! The shrimp and grits wholeheartedly knocked my socks off! This family owned business has been around for over 50 years and it absolutely makes sense how and why when you visit! Everyone is so nice and attentive! The woman making the desserts and food was such a breath of fresh air to talk to! You can tell how much of a perfectionist she is with the food! Even the coffee tastes amazing there! Small and large details make every bit of the experience legendary! If you like soul food prepared with love this should be your next meal!

Wildly overpriced and oddly unwelcoming. A neighborhood place, but I will not go again.

Pretty sure the woman who served us was the owner because they didn’t have a couple things we wanted but she went the extra mile to make sure we got something wonderful, anyway. This was literally the best french toast I’ve ever had, and we will be back often!!

Brought my family for some breakfast this morning and what an amazing time we had! We were initially coming for some simple breakfast, but the menu was well beyond what I could have hoped for. The shrimp and grits was excellent! Perfect flavor, excellent texture on the shrimp and the grits was incredible. We also ordered a few Lowrider meals (it's an open-faced sandwich on a biscuit or English muffin) but those were eaten to fast for a photo haha. We had a lovely time eating outside, and the service was still super attentive to us, refilling coffees and making sure we were comfortable. We'll be back again for sure.

I enjoy cafes but unfortunately my experience here wasn’t pleasant. The service was slow and it wasn’t busy. We waited almost half an hour for our food to arrive and it wasn’t what I was expecting. The portions weren’t worth what I paid for. I wouldn’t come back here and hope the owners take this as constructive criticism.
