Phenomenal huge sandwich.
I got the pastrami and added cheese, all the veggies, and house sauce. It came out a little soggy but in Chicago that's a good thing. Every bite was flavorful and moist. Can't forget their classic slush which they are happy to add both soda and syrup to.
Don't let the dated decor fool you. This place is a neighborhood staple.

The food was delicious, a wise man once told me you should judge food by 3 categories:
Texture, taste, and tummy feel

Here's my ranking!
Texture, had a turkey club... The bread was not dry, almost doughy in texture... Perfect! The bacon had the absolute most luxurious crunch... Yum! 9/10
Taste, the taste was complete. Exactly would you would hope for on an amazing sandwich such as this. 8.5/10
Tummy feel, yummy in my tummy. 9/10

Summary? It was great! Would I get it again? Of course! Would I recommend? Go get it already!

Staff is friendly BUT food sucks. Microwave chicken and bacon?
These reviews were bought, don't kid yourself. Thank God for Staters next door for having restrooms available

Absolutely AMAZING! The food is always PERFECT! Bread is so soft and and meat is always super fresh! And the owner is so nice! Best sandwich place ever! For sure my new favorite spot.

Total disappointment!! This is one of the worst sub sandwiches I've ever had. I blame it entirely on the bread, it was weird and soft (think doe conditioners), rather than firm and flakey. The place itself is run down inside with alot of water damage. The employee was nice though, and I have no complaints there.

Ghetto little sandwich shop in a sketchy strip mall.

Menus need to be updated with current prices! (Six year old menus are way old!)
Also, pay more if you want to pay CASH? ? WHAT?! WHY is that?!
Sandwiches are good, but pricey! ????

There is a reason why DW’s has been open for more than 40 years. Great sandwiches! My go to is the Dagwood #2. Make sure you get their Italian dressing on your sandwich.

The best tuna melt that is within Anaheim (that I've been to) the service was good, and the bathrooms could use some work. Overall 7 out of 10

Parking: The parking is shared with 6 other businesses.

We've been coming here since the 80s.. my kids went to school at Esperanza and have always loved the sandwiches. We've had the pleasure of 3 generations of sandwich makers. Love the homemade dressing. It's always our favorite turkey club, and I especially love the roast beef club.. we don't live local anymore, but whenever we're visiting family, we stop in.. a hidden gem, nothing fancy, just delicious...

Meatball sub was WAY worse than anything other sandwich shops have ever given me, the meatballs were poor in quality, tiny in comparison to the online ordering photo, and they didn't even microwave them enough to be warm all the way through. In my first bite I got a half cold meatball. Co-worker ordered a turkey club and the lettuce/veggies were old and browning, and the sandwich was missing avocado. A huge ripoff for $23 out the door.

I’ve been eating at DW’s for nearly as long as I can remember. I fondly recall riding our bikes to buy Garbage Pail Kids at the liquor store next-door, then going to grab malts, shakes, or ice cream at DW’s back in the mid-1980’s. Their Dagwood #2 is my all-time favorite sandwich. When the former owners sold I was so worried DW’s would change and I’d lose my beloved sandwich shop, but I’m so happy to say that DW’s remains the same, amazing, family-owned small business I’ve lived for decades. We’re no longer live close enough to patronize DW’s regularly, but when we visit the area, it’s always on the list of must-visit/must-eat places. In fact, I was prompted to write this review today because my daughter is CRAVING a DW’s sub and she looked it up on Google just to drool over the pictures and dream of our next visit…

The new employees seem to hate their job. When I worked here, I'd greet everyone with a smile. I saw hi to the bleach blonde behind the counter and she looked angry lol .. Vibes have gotten kinda weird here. This isn't the first interaction, just first review.
