Anaheim White House 887 S Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim Italian • $$$

“First off the ambiance is this place is amazing! It's just so pretty and opulent! I didn't really know what to expect as it's located in the middle of a busy area next door to a burger joint. Once you enter the driveway and walk up the ramp, you see a beautiful historic home and a pretty tent covered "front yard" dining area with twinkling flower lights in the trees, perfect for hosting a special event or just a nice dinner. My kids were thrown off with the dining experience as they felt like they were eating in a living room, which it probably was at one point. Next to where we were dining was a "sun room" that would be fun to be seated in also! I explored upstairs and there is a spacious bar area along with a restroom and a couple of the bedrooms that were converted to dining areas as well. So cute. We came here to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. We ordered a few drinks, gluten free Penne Amatriciana, penne Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, margherita pizza and the Whitefish Florentine. We also ordered for dessert the tiramisu, and the soufflé El Niño, and our server brought out a celebration plate of 3 mini desserts with a candle for my son's birthday. Everything we had was great. The presentation of the food was so pretty. The pizza was a bit on the soggy side due to the tomatoes that were on there but the taste was still good. They have gluten free penne as a pasta option and vegetarian options as well for those with these dietary needs. I can't say enough about our server, she was great. She was so so nice and attentive and made our evening memorable. As a matter of fact, every staff member I encountered here took the time to greet me. I'd love to come back here again for another special occasion! Highly recommend.”

Restaurant Lucky Anaheim Chicken Shop • $$
Anaheim

“This place is so cute! It reminds me of a hipster joint you would find in LA or Tokyo. They play funky music and offer happy hour everyday 8pm to close and you get $2 off munchies (their version of appetizers or small plates) and $1 off drinks. The food can be pretty spicy. For example, the drunken noodles were like a 7/10 on spice level. The boat noodle soup was loaded with robust flavor. The fried chicken wings appetizer was moist with a sweet and tangy sauce. They offer a variety of drinks from Thai tea to fresh coconut as well as unique desserts! I've been to Thailand and some of the best Thai restaurants in LA and OC and this place ranks among them for their creativity and uniqueness. The service is good and everything came out in good time. Another plus is that they provided eco-friendly to go packaging AND their water is fresh and clean! Didn't taste like tap water! I'd come back to try their other foods but make sure that the spice is not as intense.”

“So I decided to take advantage of a coupon I got via US Mail. I knew The Pizza Factory was fairly new so I read the reviews and since I didn't want to cook on a cold and rainy night I decided to trudge out in the downpour instead to check out the new pizza place in town. I phoned in my order, easy peezy. And FYI, reviews were right about the friendly older gentleman running the show. Actually, he was the only one there at that hour, about 9:30 pm, which is almost closing time. It was ready when I got there and the nice gentleman said he hoped I liked it and I could keep the coupon for next time. Then I asked for ranch dressing and he said sure no problem while he put my order in a bag and took my payment. He handed over the bag and off I went. Got home and took it out of the bag and served myself a couple pieces, anxious to try it out and pretty much famished by this time. Ugh, then I noticed there is no ranch in the bag. I checked and triple-checked. I couldn't believe the nice gentleman would do me like that. I was a little bummed out but I did like the pizza, even without the dressing I would give it a thumbs up . I got a sausage, pepperoni with half jalapeños. It was fresh and tasty and I would recommend.”

“Such a great experience! My husband and I came to Anaheim from NYC for our honeymoon. We loved the entire experience all the way through. We met several of the princesses (Jasmine, Belle, Pocahontas, Mulan, and even Snow White!) The food was so good and the service was excellent. Our server Dominic heard that we were vegetarian and even checked in with us about whether something with gelatin would be ok or not since it can sometimes be made with pork fat. Gaby was wonderful too! She gave us suggestions of what to see and do in the parks. And Brett was very entertaining with the descriptions of the desserts that he put on our table. Highly recommend going to the breakfast if you have the chance! Watching the kids meet the princesses was also such a joy! Everything about this breakfast was so worthwhile. “My fiancé and I are visiting California from Ontario, Canada and were looking for a brewery to stop at in the afternoon for a quick bite and a beer. I found Golden Road online and it looked to be what I was looking for. It did not disappoint. This place is HUGE. There is so much indoor and outdoor seating. There are nice big windows, a beautiful bar, tvs, and just the overall feel of the place is awesome. The Mango Cart beer was honestly the best beer i've ever had. Even my usually non-beer-drinking fiancé had one. The fried avocado tacos were amazing. Our server Ryan was great. He was very friendly, especially when he found out we were fellow Ducks fans. Fusion Sushi 8086 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd, Anaheim Sushi • $$
8086 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd, Anaheim

“Salmon sashimi and all of their no rice rolls are amazing! Japanese Burrito, Cucumber Special, Bingo Roll, Sashimi Roll, and house sashimi variants are all our favorites. Lemon roll is a nice fresh change with paper thin slices of lemon on top. OMG, Autumn, Forbidden Love, Kobe Beef Roll, etc., all good. Crunchy rolls all seem to be covered with a lot of home made crispy onions (good and tasty, but heavy for sushi), making those dishes heavy on the palate compared to the fresh variants, but good and probably favored by novice sushi connoisseurs. Grilled Chilean Sea bass roll is legit as well! All in all, fresh fish, decent creativity and presentation, friendly staff, and they serve beer! My fav sushi spot in the area. Online ordering for pickup makes it too easy! Cheers! Update: baked green mussels are really good too! Update 2: Majority of the time we get food to go; their presentation at the restaurant is quite beautiful. Tried some cold sake this time around and it was good. Love this place.”

Settled under the stairs on the bottom floor of the Anaheim Packing House, this train car bar has a great menu of classic cocktails and house drink specials. It's got a cool, vintage feel to it and the bartenders put a lot of care into each order. There are tables/seating inside, and a few tiny benches in front next to the entrance to sip your drinks at. It was actually quite hard for the group of us to decide what we wanted. Everything looked great. We settled on a Penicillin; a Paper Plane; and a Lost Luggage. Everything was tasty and came out fast enough, considering you're getting hand-crafted cocktails. “I know this place doesn't need another review, but I just have to. One of the tastiest breakfast I've had in a long time. I ordered the classis breakfast. All basic items, but better. Thick bacon and great country potatoes. I could live on those 2 items. Had to try the fried pancake, and yes, similar to funnel cake. No need for syrup when ordered with berry coulis. Great food and service. We'll be back!!”

Brunch was a true highlight, featuring a delightful array of dishes that left a lasting impression. However, the dinner offerings fell short in comparison, with a somewhat limited selection. It's important to note that reservations are typically necessary, although spontaneous walk-ins may find luck on occasion.Lamplight Lounge remains a convenient choice for guests seeking a relaxed dining experience accompanied by a well-crafted cocktail while exploring Disneyland California Adventure.”

“I absolutely love Ethiopian food and was desperately trying to find a good place when I moved back to California. Abyssinia Restaurant is the place!! It's so delicious!! If you never had Ethiopian, I definitely recommend this place and try it out. I would compare the eating style to Indian food in terms of using naan as a utensil to scoop up food to eat. As a vegetarian I get the Veggie Combo which is different dishes placed on injera (a spongy fermented flatbread) which you tear and use to scoop the food. So sooooo gooood. I definitely plan to go again and introduce more friends and family to Ethiopian cuisine.”

“The food here is sooooo gooood!!! I think they have the best bánh mỳ chảo in OC. If it's your first time here, I would recommend you called different types of Bánh Mỳ Chảo depending on the number of people you have. So if you have 3 people then call 1 ribeye & truffle (my favorite one as it's easy-to-eat flavor, 1 Sichuan peppercorn (the flavor might be hard for Vietnamese elders to eat but it's good), the last one can be pork meat ball (I haven't try but it should be good) or beef tenderloin (it's easy to eat and taste good like the ribeye & truffle one too but I think it's little bit salty for my personal taste). And you definitely need to call for 1 more portion of bread for each person because the one they give you won't be enough unless you don't want to get too full.”

Hot appetizers were pretty good. Nice selection of special rolls. I like how some of rolls only come with 2 pieces but you can order more next round if you want. They also took some half roll requests so you can get 4 pieces instead of 8 for some rolls. They allowed my significant other to not get AYCE since he doesn't like sushi & allowed me to get it. “This place is perhaps one of the most overlooked gems in Anaheim. It is not big, it is not fancy, and it is not over the top like a lot of places around Disney. But it is also not crowded or dramatically overpriced! This place has a solid menu with enough variety to keep everyone happy for breakfast or dinner at prices that are not only reasonable but appropriate. After spending a week in Anaheim fighting for access to every restaurant in or near Disney, only to be outraged by the exorbitant prices, mediocre food and lackluster service, we found ourselves coming back to Chambers time and again. There was never a wait, service was AMAZING (Jose G is one of the nicest guys we have ever met and is amazingly thoughtful and attentive) and the prices and food were reasonable. “Technology and Amazing ServiceOn conclusion of the Expo West food exhibition on Saturday evening we went to dinner at the Roy’s Restaurant in Los Angeles. We had a lovely meal served by Shannon. We returned to our hotel to pack our final bits and pieces before heading out to LAX airport to return home to Charleston, SC. It was at this stage I discovered one of my hearing aids, which were two weeks old, had fallen out of my pocket (not ear), somewhere. But where? The last place we had been was the restaurant. We tried calling the restaurant only to discover the their phones were out of order. We had to leave for the airport. En-route, my wife Rose, kept calling the restaurant for a long shot chance that my hearing aid had fallen out there. Next thing Enrique texts back to ask how he can help. Rose, a seventy four year old granny, texts him back explaining the story, and which table we had sat at, and could they look around and see if they could find it. Not expecting any good news we were flabbergasted when they came back to tell us they had found it.Dilemma, we were in the car on our way to the airport. My son Michael was driving and suggested we get Christopher (my other son) to call Uber Parcels and have the hearing aid sent to him. Christopher was flying back to Cleveland, GA early next morning. My wife texts Enrique to say Uber Parcels is on their way and would be there in four minutes. The driver actually arrived two minutes early and collected the hearing aid. Twenty minutes later he had delivered the hearing aid and it cost me $10. I sat in total disbelief at how quickly everything had happened. I was so impressed at the service Enrique gave us. But equally impressed at how Uber Parcels stepped into action to get the hearing aid from the restaurant to Christopher in such short order. Christopher was flying to a completely different destination to us but we would be meeting up with him in three days time. I was also super impressed with my talented “super granny” wife coordinating everybody and getting it all to happen. My faith in the goodness of people was restored and equally my appreciation of how modern technology solved this situation. Thanks to Enrique, Rose, Michael and Christopher.”

“We were here for the X-JAMM Elements of Sound event during NAMM 2019. I bought our tickets because of Devin Townsend, but we were both excited to see Larry Mitchell, OHM (guitar god Chris Poland) and Larry Mitchell perform live, as well. I had no idea what to expect from the venue itself; I bought tickets two days before the show and was super disappointed by our placement. We were in the front row, but sitting at stage right. I thought for sure I'd miss a lot because I am so vertically challenged. Turns out I had no reason to despair. Our seats were practically on stage. They set up a small row of seats where the pit would live (in another, non-seated venue). We had up-close views of all performers, and the audio was expertly mixed to allow us to experience the music in all its glory. We were shown to our seats right when we checked in, and instantly had one of the friendliest waitresses at our side, asking for our drink and/or food orders. We both asked for a Guinness and told her we might order food later (it's not food from the restaurant next door if you're curious; they only serve stadium-type items). She came back empty-handed, apologizing profusely that the bar was out of Guinness. We changed our orders, and let her know it was totally fine, but she was so sweet and I could tell she felt bad. She made it a point to check on us throughout the night (we did end up sharing an order of $8 nachos to go with our $8 beers; at least she hooked us up on the cheese sauce), making sure not to bother us while a performance was actually happening. Now that I know that this place exists, I'll keep an eye on their events calendar. I liked how easy it was to get there, and how friendly the staff was. I just know to plan to eat dinner ahead of time, to save money.”
