“Honestly, this is one of those places you almost want to keep secret. The cafe is a converted house, so it feels much cozier and more welcoming than a typical coffee shop. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged.

I ordered a latte and a crepe, and both were excellent. The latte was smooth and flavorful, and the crepe was absolutely delicious. The owner was also incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home.

I rarely write reviews, but this place truly deserves it. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing cafe with great coffee and food“

“I treat myself to a hot lavender latte with almond milk here almost every weekend. It is truly one of the best coffee drinks I have ever tasted, and it is consistently good. One time I waited in line over 20 minutes just to order this drink. Sometimes the line spills way out the door and onto the sidewalk. A bonus is that they sometimes have a vegan pastry or two available. The only downside, which they probably can't do anything about, is the seating. It is super small inside with a few tables outside along the sidewalk, but sometimes there are no open seats or only a few seats in the hot sun with no shade. It's still all worth it to come here though. They also play great music inside and the people working here are super sweet. I wish them much continued success.“

“I ordered the legend coffee which is a strong coffee served with a side of condensed milk. It was delicious! I also highly recommend the waffles. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and not too sweet!

We spent a few hours in the cafe, reading our books while sipping coffee. The environment was conducive. The bathroom was also clean despite it being a Sunday with many customers. It seemed like their staff checks and cleans it regularly.

Do note that while they do not offer decaf coffee options, they have a selection of teas and herbal tea options.

On my most recent visit, Mauricio welcomed me and provided great service. He was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff here consistently provide amazing customer service and make you feel genuinely welcome.

Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but the Spanish latte is definitely my favorite and keeps me coming back.

“The Bottom Line Up Front:
In a world filled with corporations masquerading as sophisticated boutiques, Philz is a growing chain that still retains a cozy atmosphere while serving up great coffee. I've been to other Philz, but this review will focus on this Brea location.

The Drink:
I got the seasonal salted caramel cold brew and it was delicious. Picture Starbucks' caramel macchiato but less sweet and with less acidic espresso. This Philz drink was smooth and creamy, with enough caffeine kick to keep me powered throughout the day.

The Service:
Our barista was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions and a couple of samples so that I could make the right selection. Grade A service!

The Setting:
Located in the new section of Brea Mall, this Philz location is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future).

The Conclusion:
As part of a franchise that doesn't act like one, the Brea location of Philz offers great coffee with excellent customer service.“

My sister and I would often stop by this place for coffee during our business trips from Doha, Qatar. The coffee genuinely reminds me of home, and after trying numerous coffee shops in the area, this is the one that consistently stands out.

The quality and flavour of the coffee are exceptional, and it is easily my favourite coffee spot in the area. It is rare to find a place that consistently delivers, but this one never disappoints.

If I had one piece of constructive feedback, it would be the breakfast menu, which I feel could use some improvement. That said, the coffee alone is absolutely worth the visit.“

Good pastry, could have offered to warm it up, but still tasty. Got a pound of Guatemala Antigua dark roast beans. They were outstanding. Worth every penny.“
