I discovered Jones in the early 2000’s during business trips to Pasadena. Through the years it became a must have visit, even during family trips. Leading the way is Rafael. He’s calm and welcoming and his presence is felt every where. In fact, during a 2021 visit he spotted my family and me, came over to greet us, and fondly recalled my children who he hadn’t seen in close to 8 years. “Excellent Americano and a very nice spacious place. Love the ambience of this coffee shop, and love that they have a Slayer espresso machine, too!

You can tell it's different Americano because of the more modern, foward-tasting notes that's more typical of Slayer. Slightly more woodsy, and layered than your heavier, rounded espresso drinks from a La Marzocco.

The ham and cheese croissant is light, crispy, and very delicious. It's a great case of less is more when you don't need a heavy sandwich but expect delicious clean flavor.

I ended up buying their Espresso Blend, and I can't wait to try it on my Profitec Go espresso machine at home.“

Aqaurela's beans provide a different experience. We are by no means coffee experts, but my wife and I were surprised by the nuances in smell and taste when we tried their Deus Me Livre for our morning espresso. It's a lighter feel; almost refreshing. The morning cup feels a bit indulgent, yet not so rich as to make your mouth feel overwhelmed. We could see this pairing very well as an after-dinner treat with any manner of desserts. The best part is that this is simply a fantastic company to work with. Quick, fast delivery. Prompt follow-up to make sure we were completely satisfied. And all questions answered - when we noted that we typically prefer darker roasts, one of the owners explained that their goal was to make a medium-roast whose flavors would still hold up to a coordination with cream and sugar. It's a throwback to days where customer service and the personal touch were still important. “I had a Spanish latte here that was delicious, the cashier was very sweet but I dont know if it was just a busy day and their system of bringing coffees to each person made it seem chaotic but it is a tiny place that was super crowded. If I order ahead of time and happen to find a parking spot I would absolutely love to pick up a coffee here on the go but the atmosphere was just not for me. Don't let that keep you away because the coffee IS good.“
