“Yesterday was my second time coming in! The pastries are delicious and I love the variety, but yesterday I found what looked like a bristle from a kitchen scrub brush in my Kouign-amann! I was thoroughly enjoying my pastry, when I felt something like plastic in my mouth. At first it looked like a hair, but it’s definitely plastic. I believe this was probably a mistake, but I think they should aim to be a bit more careful with this. Again, the pastries did taste great though. I’d still return for more.“

“Great spot! My mom is celiac and it’s rare (like never happens!) that she can find a gf donut. This spot is dedicated gluten free and she was soooo stoked to visit Hello Yr Welcome twice during her recent visit to LA. We got 3 donuts her first time in and 1/2 dozen the second (bc she loved them so much). They were all very flavorful and delicious!

Staff is super friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. Oh and the coffee is great. I got some delicious espresso / good flavor and not bitter - they know how to pull a shot ☕

Also worth noting that all the breakfast sandos and other items look delicious as well! But we were just focused on my moms rare opportunity to enjoy a donut

Worth getting here early as they do tend to sell out of some flavors by afternoon. We found there’s plenty of street parking in the surrounding area, even on the weekends.

“This was the first time my wife and I had been to this coffee shop. I loved the atmosphere, very quiet and chill. The iced latte was spot on. My wife and I shared an avocado toast which was fantastic, never thought to put cucumber on the toast with a strawberry but it paired well. The toast did take 30 minutes to get to us. I had to go to the to the register and ask about it. I was told that the cook never received the order due to there being no paper in their machine. It happens so no biggie. My only advice would be maybe to have offered a free coffee or some compensation for waiting so long. Overall though, this place was fantastic and I would return!“

“Found Monta Factory last year. My waistline has suffered ever since. Sarkis just jams out perfection in a dumpling. The dough is crispy the filling is flavorful and the tomato and yogurt are both delicious. The Su Boreg is crispy and flakey and tasty as well.
If you go here, just go ahead and get the large. I got a small once and regretted it. They serve Salmon Sandwiches, but whenever I stop by, I can't force myself not to get the dumplings. They have a vegetarian option too.
Sarkis the owner is very nice and welcoming and knowledgeable about the food. I am not Armenian, but I am definitely a convert to Armenian Dumplings bc of this place!! Treat yourself.
This is a no frills spot that focuses on doing 2 or 3 things perfectly. They have a few little tables outside if you can't wait to get home!
You can also buy frozen and reheat at home.“

“This is a really neat historic spot, a craftsman home bulit in the 1800's in S. Pasadena repurposed into a restaurant. The vibe is cozy and welcoming. It's like your meeting with friends at someone's home but with professional service, where everyone can just relax and enjoy each other's company. My first visit was with a few girlfriends years ago for their happy hour which runs m-f, from 4-6pm. Since then I've come back for their brunch, and recently dinner. All visits have been memorable and exceptional all around.
They are known for their craft cocktails. My friend had to drink called Latina Medicina and substituted vodka for tequila. It was a citrusy, refreshing drink, beautifuly presented with a large square ice cube, which apparently takes 3 days to make. My husband had the Alien Pool Party cocktail, also refreshing and very fun! We had a lot of laughs with that one. So if you've never been here and are looking for something different, then I recommend you give him a try.“

“Excellent shaved Ice. This is the only shaved ice that I've ever eaten that actually tastes like Ice cream. It's incredibly delicious and worth the visit. I recommend their mango melon. It's perfection. Strawberry one is great too if you like Strawberries. It is a small place and finding a place to sit inside will be challenging and uncomfortable if you get claustrophobic in a small busy space. I suggest take out. Also, parking is an issue but that's pretty much Pasadena for you. Otherwise, I strongly recommend it.“

I couldn’t pick so the lady who took my order helped me choose and I got the peanut butter chocolate brownie flavor (I think). But anyways it is huge, and the ice cream is rich but at the same time didn’t taste too sweet at all. I was having a rough day, but now I just feel happyyyy.

“This is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot I’ve had in years. My go-to is the egg burrito with rice and beans, plus a fish ceviche. Their fish and shrimp ceviches are sooo good. I love the balance of all the flavors. Hands down one of my favorite places. 🥰“

“Whenever I find myself in Pasadena, I make it a point to stop by. As I step through the front door, the aromas are welcoming, the setting comforting, and with it a slew of memories rushes back. I discovered Jones in the early 2000’s during business trips to Pasadena. Through the years it became a must have visit, even during family trips. Leading the way is Rafael. He’s calm and welcoming and his presence is felt every where. In fact, during a 2021 visit he spotted my family and me, came over to greet us, and fondly recalled my children who he hadn’t seen in close to 8 years. It’s that type of personal attention , and good product, that has kept me coming back. Enjoy!“
