Hacea Coffee Source

I’ve been really impressed by Hacea. Have bought green coffee beans from them on several occasions and they’re always excellent, shipped quickly and packaged well. I also just completed their Roast Approach Experience Tasting Kit and it exceeded my expectations. The coffee was really thoughtfully chosen and roasted. The information, roasting curves, etc were great and more professionally executed than expected and I enjoyed watching the online discussion session. I was impressed how they configured the course and material to benefit coffee roasters of widely varying experience and equipment. I’d definitely do it again and hope they continue these activities.

I’ve just completed the first class over the weekend, and I’m glad I did. The class went beyond the basic knowledge that I had acquired before entering it which was exactly what I hoped for. The lecture confirmed that knowledge, then the hands-on cupping, brewing and roasting elevated that knowledge to the sensory experience that is much needed to help me understand and appreciate not only the value of being able to enjoy my cup of coffee on a different level from now on, but also the hard work and the struggles this fascinating industry has endured and continue to face. Reading and watching videos about coffee is one thing, it’s classes like this that put everything into perspective. Jared and Luke delivered this point perfectly. They’re knowledgeable, and they’re eager to share that knowledge. Very open to questions and I had so much fun talking to them. I did get the feel of a passionate family business which I appreciate and is more than happy to support. They did get nerdy, just a touch, into the math and the graphing for brewing and roasting. My head spun a bit but it was so much fun! The second class will be worth taking for someone who is serious about coffee and is ready to get even more nerdy.

I took the coffee 101 classes and had a blast. So much good info for beginners and people who are already deep into their coffee journey. The structure of the classes give you a unique and full perspective on the how and why your coffee tastes the way it does. I left felling like I had a much richer understanding of specialty coffee, and now I'm even more stoked to try new beans, brew methods, and home roasting. I will definitely be going back for any other classes these guys put on.

Highly recommend the Comprehensive Coffee Training if you are you are even remotely interested in coffee and it’s distinct stages from farm to cup.

So so worthwhile taking these classes if you're wanting get a bit more serious, yet also wanting enjoy speciality coffee more intentionally. We took the comprehensive class which included tasting, roasting and brewing. We learned so much from each class but also was not overwhelmed, as Jared our certified Q grader instructor (and founder of hacea) presented the content in a very approachable but not dumbed down way. We fully enjoyed and appreciated the classes, but also through them we now appreciate coffee even more than before.

I recently took a coffee training class, and it was an amazing experience! We went in as people who simply love coffee and wanted to learn more for fun, but we walked out with a whole new appreciation for it. The class covered so much ground, taking us from the seed all the way to the cup.

One of the coolest parts was learning about cupping, the coffee tasting process. It was fascinating to discover how to distinguish different tastes and notes, and to understand how various factors can affect the flavor. It was a real eye-opener to learn how to identify good coffee versus just okay coffee.

Our instructors, Jared and Emily, were fantastic. They were so knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, and they made everything so interesting and easy to understand. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

By the end of the class, we had learned so much more than we expected and developed a deeper appreciation for coffee. If you're a coffee lover or just curious about what makes a great cup of coffee, I highly recommend taking this class. It’s fun, informative, and definitely worth it!

I took a 3 part class from Jared and it was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and had the ability to transfer that knowledge to our class. The class size was perfect and very reasonably priced. I learned a ton and look forward to continuing to work with Hacea as I continue to learn about coffee.

I took a 3 course coffee education day at Hacea and it was very informative. The class size was small and everyone had great questions which were followed up by educated and experienced answers. Jared is very knowledgeable and does a great job sharing what he knows. The roasted coffee they gave to us at the end of the day to take home from the tasting class was very good and they included two 500g bags of green bean coffee for roasting at home as part of the roasting class which turned out amazing. Looking forward to cultivating a long lasting relationship with Hacea and my roasting business.

A wonderful company. Excellent experience and very high quality coffee. I’m quite particular with the varieties I’m looking for and the staff here has been extremely helpful in sourcing and recommending some of the best beans I have come across. I cant recommend them enough!

I've been purchasing green coffee from them to do my home roasts. Always an excellent experience with ordering, pickup and any questions I have.I learned that they taught classes on coffee tasting/cupping, brewing, and roasting. I signed up along with two friends. We had a great time in each class getting a better understanding of the depth and nuance of each. I feel much more confident in understating my coffee preferences.I can't wait to apply what I learned to better buy coffee and to tweak how I roast and brew my own coffee!Jared and Luke were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this class to beginners and hobbyist coffee enthusiasts alike!

This review has been a long time in the making. Five stars cant communicate how invaluable Jared&co have been to the success of our Roasting Co. My wife and I started Bema Coffee roasters two years ago and since that time Jared has been an integral part of not only helping us source the kind of coffees we want to be known for but also is a wealth of information and consultation. This isn't even touching upon the quality of greens they source and the manner in which they do it, which is always out standing in quality and variety. This has all translated into being able to provide our Customer base with a rotating selection of unique coffees, and as the roaster and barista working in our cafe daily the feedback has been nothing but encouraging. having Hacea crew and Jared as a part of our coffee journey.... The classes here basically pay for themselves. You get a small personal class a lot of information and some coffee to take home for a really low price. Can't recommend it enough.
