Hate to give anything less than a glowing review to what is these days a rare breed in authentic German but the food here seems to have lost a step since last visit a half decade ago. A small currywurst starter and a schweinshaxe with two small sides ran $45 all-in. This pricing would be fine if the quality of cooking matched 4-star expectations but the hock here was quite off, with the skin encompassing pretty much every aspect of the spectrum from leathery to crispy-crackly. The meat inside had a similar variability--succulent in some places and dry beyond salvaging in others. Service was not particularly engaging. It should be noted that I overheard word about last of the (German) owners sadly having passed away recently. One can certainly have a good time at Jägerhaus if knocking back a few and selecting the right things to share but this visit showed that there has been a slip in standards from what was already just barely decent German fare. I would nonetheless encourage a visit, as places with deeply-German DNA are nearing extinction and I'd hold out faith that there are still enough things this kitchen can cook competently to make for a decent meal.

I liked the food I ate in Jägerhouse but their slow service is kinda disappointing. The place was practically empty when I went but it felt like our server was too busy inside the kitchen. Not sure if he was on double duty that night, but it sure felt like it. I had the elk dinner plate and my hubby ordered veal with anchovies. The elk was tender and flavorful despite being not fatty at all. The cranberry sauce on the side looked like it came from the can (it even had the "can" lines) so that was disappointing. The rye bread was soft and I wonder if it's made in-house. The portions weren't as big as I had thought but it was filling enough. My husband said that his dish was tasty too so no complaints on the food. I'm not a beer person so I got the non-alcoholic kind. It wasn't as bad... it was light and easy to drink. I gave them a 4 coz of the food taste and they are no halfsies on Yelp. Staff was friendly enough but could've been better. It's a bummer that they're closing coz I was hoping to try their other dishes the next time I want to eat German food.

Amazing authentic German food! Fantastic service! So sad today is their last day. Was one of my mom's favorite places to eat!

I had been to Jagerhaus on several occasions and every time had been a treat. Sandy was an amazing lady that was so passionate about her customers, her staff and her customers. I loved the way she would walk around the restaurant and talk to the diners. Such a kind spirit. I heard today that Sandy had passed and that 12/24/2021 would be the last day the restaurant would be open. If you have never had a chance to go, go now. Let's send the Jagerhaus team off on a high note! RIP Sandy!

The food was good; the giant pretzel was impressively large and very tasty! The food was good and seemed authentically German. If you like German food, or want to try it - this is the place!

My family and I have been returning customers for a few years. They have provided excellent service and the food has always been amazing! With that said we chose to celebrate our dads 70th birthday and enjoy our time together. Well our experience was horrible! The dishes for our appetizer had food stuck on it. Extremely gross! Our waiter, wish I had his name. Was extremely RUDE. Asking our 70yr old father to hurry. He literally said, hurry I'm busy. We had to keep going to the kitchen to ask for drinks and other services.

Very good, homemade, traditional southern German food. The ambiance is typical southern German but is a little tired (the beer glasses on the shelves need to be run through the dishwasher). The German potato salad was a bit greasy but everything tasted like Oma ( German grandma) made it. Reasonable prices too. Worth a try but go hungry. This is heavy food!

Amazing place for German food

I miss the charming Ms Sandy, the owner. Jagerhaus experience is a lot different without the warm smile of this lovely woman.

Extremely sexist server and host. We had asked to split the check. They brought us the check and it wasn't separated. I then had to sit there for 10 mins explaining what card went to which meal bc they refused to just split the bill. The whole time the host was getting upset and mad at me for not remembering what every single person ordered, even though they had our order list with them. His behavior between me and my male companions was pretty clear. I was treated d*** and horribly, the men treated with utmost respect.

What a delightful place to visit. We were driving to Disneyland and saw this on the way down wondering if we should try. Coincidentally our friend texted us and told us to try a place called Jagerhaus if we didn't have further plans for dinner. It was a sign, and we had to try. We were not disappointment. The restaurant has a old school vibe, very homey and hospitable. Transports you back in to time to an authentic German restaurant. First off was the pretzel with mustard. Oh my lord the pretzel was so good. Came out HOT and so soft inside, and the MUSTARD, raging hot it cleared all my sinuses. I would just eat the pretzel all day. I had the two bratwurst dinner with a side of mashed potatoes and saurkraut. Slab on some of that mustard and the plate had me coming in for more and more. Everything was very tasty and when combined together very well balanced. The mashed potatoes had great texture and I cleaned my entire plate. I am 100% coming back, might just go here every time we go to Disney. Please keep this place alive!

Food is pricey, but in my opinion reasonable for the quality/quantity of the food. Here are some items that I have tried: Reuben Sandwich - Delicious! Sauerbraten - Average Weiner Roastbraten - Good Cream Spinach (side) - Delicious! Sauerkraut (side) - Average Will add more upon my return...

We were craving for some really good German food after the failed attempt in Vegas.Jagerhaus did not disappoint us! Good food, large portion and reasonably priced. We ordered the Paprika Schnitzel and the Roast Ham Hock. Both came with two sides so we had the German potato salad and the Spatzle. The food reminds us of our time in Germany and the restaurant decor makes you feel like you are in Germany.
