This was an amazing dining experience. Having worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry for decades it is thrilling to dine at a venue that is top rate. Flavors are extraordinary — the shrimp aquachile was spicy with perfect degree of acid; handmade tortillas with the short ribs were perfect; the short rib was so tender and favorful. John who was our server was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, professional, very helpful in navigating the very interesting menu. The specials associated with the Food and Wine Festival at the Disney parks provided lovely options to consider. Will be coming again and again
I recently dined at Paseo in Disneyland Downtown, and while the adult food was fantastic, the experience fell short when it came to the kids’ meals. The pork shank was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The margaritas were equally impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing. However, the children’s steak was a major disappointment. While I understand that kids’ meals are often simplified, my children are accustomed to quality food, and I expect their meals to receive the same care as the adult options. The asada steak was poorly prepared, cut with the grain, which made it incredibly tough to chew. I even demonstrated to the staff that the steak was so poorly cut that I couldn’t pull it apart with my hands. Their only solution was to offer a knife, which I then used to cut the steak properly against the grain. It’s clear that less attention was given to the preparation of my child’s meal, which is frustrating, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. While the adult dishes excelled, the lack of care in the kids’ meal left a negative impression. I hope Paseo takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every meal, regardless of who it’s for, is prepared with the same attention to quality.
The service was impeccable! Alejandro is a total professional yet warm and approachable. The food was a complete surprise. Way better than I could have imagined in Disney. Don’t miss Paseo!
Dietary restrictions: I have food allergies and it was not a problem. I got the Yukatan fish wrapped in banana leaf and it was incredible!

Worst tuna ceviche I've ever had. I wish I took a picture to show the black, black sludge that arrived at our table. Tiny bites of something swimming in a black sauce were impossible to determine if it really was fish. We wondered if they forgot the fish. The chips came standing in a bowl of dried beans that I wondered if they reused over and over again. I have no idea how they can call it ceviche. The lamb barbacoa was not good either, but the chicken enchiladas and pork shanks were okay. Service was very very slow. Atmosphere was fine but nothing special.

I rarely feel compelled enough to set aside time to write a negative review on a restaurant, unless the visit was that egregious. Unfortunately, our visit tonight to Paseo was actually that horrifically bad.
I'll just highlight the notable things:
- The esquites was easily the worst esquites we've ever had. After my first bite, I knew right away that this was just cheap canned corn. The kitchen staff didn't even bother to drain the canned corn they used, so the entire bottom of the esquite was just water. Absolutely unacceptable. Also, the flavor was just meh. Bland.
- The $64 ($64???? What is this? Mastro's??) carne asada was terrible. We asked for it to be cooked medium. And instead, what we got was an extremely thick tough to chew brick of meat where one half of it was cooked raw rare and the other half was cooked well done. Apparently, someone in the kitchen doesn't know how to cook steak. And the carne asada steak was extremely thick, tough, chewy, and difficult to slice with a steak knife.
- The halloween "special" drink was BAD. There was barely any alcohol in the drink. It was mostly just orange and pineapple juice, with the tiniest splash of alcohol, and a way too salty foam on top. For $18, are you joking? I could only force myself to drink barely half of it before I couldn't take it anymore. It was that undrinkable.
- The fish empanada with squid ink masa was just ok. Not terrible. But also not great. There wasn't any "pizzaz" in the flavors, just pretty bland. And this was also $18 for just one literal empanada. Yikes.
- An expeditor who dropped off our carne asada plate, walked up to us with the dish, asked who had the carne asada plate, and then proceeded to just stare at us. He basically waited for us to move dishes and cups out of the way for him so he could place the carne asada plate down. Wow. Really? And then what was even better was he set the plate down crooked and at an angle, so the wooden board (that the carne asada dish came served on) was at an awkward angle, with pieces of steak rolling off the board onto the table. And the expeditor just walks away. Unbelievable.
- We asked an expeditor if we could get some ketchup. They said "sure" and didn't come back till 10 minutes later, only to tell us that they ran out of ketchup. Our server then said, just wait a sec, i'll go find some. Then our server comes back with with what looked like the bottom of a ketchup bottle just splattered at the bottom of the cup. It was probably enough ketchup for a few french fries? What was kind of sad was the server then later brought us a full bowl of ketchup, claiming she had to go to another restaurant to get us ketchup, but we were already finished with our meal and ready to leave. I appreciated the effort, but why even bring it to us when we were clearly finished with our meal?
- Believe it or not, the ONLY thing that was actually kinda decent was the kids quesadilla.
I can't believe I just spent about 10-15 min writing this negative review. But I feel I owe it to anyone who might consider coming to this restaurant in the future, so that they can read an actual review. $180 for 2 adults and a five year old and a 2 year old. If the food and service was actually good, then sure, I'd be perfectly happy to spend the money and enjoy the experience.
But we definitely will not be coming back. There are wayyy too many other better establishments out there that serve great Mexican food at lower prices.
The head chef of Paseo should be ashamed of himself.

Service and details are lacking. The decor is nice. Food was good but bathroom was filthy and staff had attitude. Has potential. Needs better management help. My server was awful. Embarrassed to the guests I took there. Tried but will pass next time. Price not worth it for the experience. It's too bad.

Let me start off with I AM NEVER COMEING BACK , I've received better service at a fast food restaurant, server didn't check on us after every course , seemed more like order takers , but when the check came he brought that out faster and retrived it faster then when he brought waters for us.
MAIN POINT : Food is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE with very low quality ingredients (nothing is absolute in the world, but this is )
Canned beans as a side (clearly taste canned )
When our mains hit, only 1 dish was hot (means the food was sitting while the rest of the order was being made ) the rest where not up to temperature, the chorizo from the tlayuda was not hot (luckly we didn't get sick )
Chicken enchiladas were not hot as well , basic and bland, (you want salmonella, this is your dish )
The fish dish was pretty and presntable , but everything around tasted as if it had been sitting since the morning .plantain pure was cold
I wouldn't be surprised if they have more can goods than fresh produce with what they presented .
THIS RESTAURANT IS A CATFISH ,DONT FALL FOR IT
