Walked by and walked in for the first but definitely not the last time. Great food that is filling and reasonably priced. The line to order started growing and an employee who was on her break ran over to open another register. That kind of service is seldom seen and is appreciated. In fact I went to a chain restaurant a couple days ago and I was told I would have to you their kiosk to order so I walked out. Touché to Zankou! Mmm chicken!

Stopped by Zankou Chicken and had a really solid experience. We ordered the kabob plate and added one extra kabob for just $5, which felt like a great deal for the amount of food. The meat was flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. Portions were generous and definitely filling.
The limeade was super refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal — especially if you like something bright and citrusy to balance the savory flavors.

At this point we just drop in for the nostalgia. The place looks exactly like it did 20 years ago but you no longer have to wait in a long 30 minute line to order your food.
Chicken and wraps feel like they're not as filling as before and the flavors have dulled a little. Maybe it's the sting of high prices comparing from days gone past where 25 dollars could feed you for a day or two as a broke college student. These days a shawarma meal with a drink...
