“It used to be called Mary's Pizza, and now it's Charlew's Tap House. I met the owner himself, and we had a nice chat about his grandmother and his family. He said that, like me his family was born and raised in California. He's really nice guy. The service is excellent, The ambience is really nice. They have private booths, large tables, and, you can also just sit at the bar and watch them Make a pizza. He told me that whenever I wanted he would make me the best pizza I ever had. I believe it. I usually get the spaghetti with a giant meatball à la carte on the lunch menu and it's very reasonably priced. Also delicious. Probably the best Italian food I've ever had in this area, or possibly anywhere else in short of The i-80 truck stop in Iowa, The world's largest truck stop. There's a family-owned restaurant there that had the most delicious lasagna I've ever tasted, but now that I've had it at this place, it's no longer the best I've ever had. I recommend this restaurant to anybody. and everybody“

Lots of appetizers to choose from, diverse wine and beer list, homemade soups that will knock your socks off, wonderful entree options for any palette, and homemade desserts to bring it all home. Needless to say, the service and experience is top tier - and you feel how much they care about you from the moment you walk in the door. “We came here for our 18th anniversary. We called ahead and got reservations. When we arrived we were seated promptly. The staff was very nice and the pasta was perfect. I got the chicken pesto special and my husband got the shrimp scampi. After looking at the pictures online I was a little concerned about the portion sizes, they are much larger than they appear in the photos. I was very pleased and had some to bring home as well.“

“I was on a biz trip in Redding and wanted some Pizza. Came to Shasta Pizza and met the nicest people. A gentleman that looked a bit down on his luck came in trying to buy what he could. I offered to have a couple pieces of the pizza I ordered wrapped in foil and given to him, no big deal I could not eat it all! The guy behind the counter said, he would do me one better, and hooked the guy up with some food. That makes me realize just how much good some people can do and truly are! I recommend this place, not only because the pizza is very good, but because the PEOPLE there are very good!“

I had been to both of their previous restaurant locations, this one is much bigger and roomier especially if you have a large group. Food is reasonably priced compared to some of the other restaurants in the neighborhood.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot has easy accessibility to the front door. There is a back area for dining that does not require going upstairs. And the restrooms are also on the same floor level.“

The portions are fair for the price and the slices are cut small for easy portioning.The only ding is that the space really is set up as a carry out or delivery restaurant. There is not much space in the customer waiting area but that you see is clean and well maintained.Vegetarian options: The classic vegetarian pizza is flavorful and has a great mix of vegetables. The artichoke pizza has odd toppings but somehow it works.“
