Portside Fish & Chips is a restaurant known for its fresh and hot menu items, prepared with care. Customers can expect generous portions of fish, served just as they like it. The fish pieces are massive, with some customers wishing they had asked for less batter, but overall, the fish is flavorful, light, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The batter is crunchy and tasty, enhancing the experience. The chips are crispy, cut into slightly larger sizes, and well-seasoned, making them a great complement to the fish. Portside also offers sweet potato fries, which have received positive feedback, along with homemade ranch. The restaurant's charming staff and inviting atmosphere, along with a friendly host/server, make it a place worth visiting. Many customers appreciate the relaxed, family-friendly environment and the personal touches from the staff, such as wishing guests well. The fried mushrooms are notably large, hot, crispy, and some of the best around, often praised as the best fried mushrooms this side of the Sacramento River. The coleslaw is tasty enough to almost lick the cup, adding to the meal's enjoyment. The owner is very kind and takes pride in her restaurant, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors often mention that the fish and chips, fried mushrooms, and fries are the best they’ve had, and many look forward to returning. Overall, Portside Fish & Chips offers delicious food, friendly service, and a nautical decor that leaves a great impression.
