First time trying this restaurant with my family. The food is great but on the pricey side. We tried this restaurant for special occasion (Xmas eve dinner). Staff are very friendly!

Jayden and the team at Blue Magpie pulled out all the stops for our family Christmas Eve dinner, in the midst of an epic storm. I could not have been more full or happy with all they did for us. This new and absolutely beautiful restaurant on the site of the former/infamous Rod's Grill will not disappoint.

When you're paying $150+ per person for a course meal, you don't expect to get served with sour taro 🤢, and there was kinda no apology.

Hands down the worst Taiwanese food I’ve ever had. Everything was bland. We ordered 5 dishes, not a single dish had any Taiwanese flavor or soul. The Three Cups Duck ($70), and it was bone-dry and completely flavorless. The veggies ($20) tasted like something from a mall food court. Save your taste buds (and your wallet) and do yourself a favor and skip this place entirely.

Such a hidden gem! The food here is so good — super flavorful and tastes really authentic. You can tell they put a lot of effort into every dish. The space is cute and elegant but still feels cozy, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Totally recommend coming here with friends or family. It’s great for sharing dishes and just enjoying a chill, delicious meal. Don’t skip the desserts, they’re amazing!

The restaurant has a calm and beautiful atmosphere, and everything feels very well designed. The food was amazing — fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. Every dish tasted special in its own way. The service was excellent too. The staff were friendly and professional, and they made me feel very comfortable. You can tell they really care about the guests. It's a great place for both casual dining and special occasions. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommend.

It's a new contemporary Taiwanese restaurant. The decor is beautiful with two vip rooms and a full bar! Their dishes and cocktails are very unique. We ordered their braised pork belly with rice, chicken ambrosia soup, San bei duck, pea shoot stir fry, poached chicken. They were all delicious. Would definitely come back with a bigger party to try more food.

Heard there's a new Taiwanese restaurant in town so I decided to give it a shot. The interior is beautiful!! modern yet cozy. and they even have a full bar. It was pretty packed when I went, and all the private dining spaces were full too. The service was excellent and the food was really unique — dishes I've never tried before. Drinks were amazing as well. I'll definitely be back to try their brunch menu next time.

As someone who loves Taiwanese food, I’ve probably tried almost every Taiwanese spot in LA, and of course I couldn’t miss this one. My first visit happened to be their special Mid-Autumn Festival tasting menu, which was such a perfect way to experience the chef’s creativity and skills.

Although the menu listed 14 courses, it honestly felt like over 20 dishes with how generous the portions were definitely great value. The skewers and tempura came in multiple varieties, and I loved the little touch of yuzu sorbet in between courses to refresh the palate. Every dish was beautifully presented, almost like a Taiwanese version of omakase.

Their drinks are just as creative as the food. The cocktail menu is impressive and playful, but if you don’t drink, their fruit tea and milk tea are just as satisfying and very true to flavor.

The restaurant itself feels upscale yet comfortable, with two large private dining rooms that make it perfect for gatherings. It’s a spot I’d definitely choose for family dinners or get-togethers with friends, plenty of dishes that both adults and kids would enjoy, paired with attentive service.

When I first came to LA, Taiwanese food was everywhere, but mostly small casual eateries. Now they’re much rarer. I had long heard about this new restaurant rooted in Taiwanese flavors with a creative twist, but always felt it was too far. Then I saw their special Mid-Autumn Festival tasting menu and finally went!

The restaurant is stunning and packed—reservations highly recommended. Many guests were speaking Taiwanese, and I also noticed families gathering in their gorgeous private rooms. My husband said this is exactly the kind of Taiwanese restaurant LA needs: a place where people can come together for holidays, enjoy a refined environment, and still taste authentic flavors. Perfect for business dinners or date nights.

Although the Mid-Autumn menu was listed as 14 courses, each section actually included multiple dishes—felt like I had dozens! I was so full; definitely eat light beforehand. A few standouts for me:
• Tea-Smoked Duck Breast & Scallop Aiyu Jelly – a creative pairing of Taiwanese street snack and premium ingredients, smoky yet refreshing.
• Seafood Steamed Egg with Truffle – silky, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend!
• Yakitori Skewers – surprising to see so many in one tasting menu. They were grilled over fruitwood charcoal, incredibly aromatic.
• Shaoxing Cream Lobster – the sauce was divine, especially mixed with butter rice.

Desserts were also lovely, each carrying a sense of Eastern festivity. The bar area is worth a visit too—the backdrop painting has a refined Oriental elegance, and the bartender (who reminded me of actress Wan Peng) was stunning and chic. I tried a fruit tea and a Long Island Taro Milk, but next time I’ll go for their quirky popcorn cocktail.

What’s special about this place is how traditional Taiwanese snacks are elevated with creative presentation, yet the flavors stay authentic. Even older generations would feel right at home.

Decore looked great upon entry. Seating was easy, but the restaurant lighting is a bit odd. It seems a bit too dim in some places, but too bright in others. The lighting is a bit uncomfortable and the restaurant is quite loud, even when it was only about 50% full. I would suggest to have some something to help absorb or dampen the noise so the acoustics are better. Service was extremely slow. Took forever for our food to come out after ordering. However, the food was good, and the lunch portions were huge! We will probably come back, but hope things can be more streamlined and comfortable.

Had lunch here on Sep. 18th and it was a terrible experience. We ordered six items, but three were missing and only brought out after we reminded the staff — they didn’t even notice the mistake, despite the restaurant not being busy at all. To make things worse, one of the beef noodle soups was served with the beef still frozen, which is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. When we raised these issues, the staff offered no apology. Overall, very poor service and attitude. The food is also definitely not recommended.

it was a nice clean restaurant with concrete floor. so its very loud with lots people here. beautiful bar but no TV for live sports ! that's kinda weird. service was good. very busy there. food quality was so so , the sandwich was not good. does not match the name of it. the chips are soft. the Avocado salad is more like guacamole , no chunks of avocado and few pieces of fried tofu very disappointing Steak and eggs are good. and Beef noodles was so so the noodle they use more like the instant noodle from some Taiwan ramen. over all is so so. will not go back again soon.
