Kokumi has become one of my favorite local hot pot places. Whenever I get the craving, I always find myself coming here instead of BP or Jazz Cat. I love all the options they have and it’s always so good every time I come. My favorite has been the sukiyaki soup base with pork. They are short staffed so sometimes it may take some time but that doesn’t bother me. Sometimes it can get pretty packed so you might have to wait a bit but I’ve seen people get seated quickly if they choose to sit at the bar.

Tonight I tried the $12.99 beef or pork special because I wasn’t too hungry and it was perfect. I never tend to finish everything but I did today. You get the original soup base, a smaller selection of veggies than what you’d usually get, ramen, a bowl of rice, and either beef or pork. No substitutions are allowed. I will say that the original soup base is very basic so it could seem a bit unflavored compared to the other soup bases they offer but I liked it. It’s very clean.

Server needs an attitude check. Your restaurant looka depressing enough and your server treats customers with no respect. Many other shabu places out there.

First time trying and we enjoyed the food. They're short on staff, but we didn't mind too much. Good thing it wasn't a busy night though. We ordered their $12.99 meal and wagyu toro set. Both were really good and filling for us. Restrooms are found in the back and not that hard to find like the other reviewer mentioned. Good amount of parking too. Staff couldn't make sushi since they were short on staff and only shabu shabu available.

Love this place! I drive far to eat here because it's so worth it. Definitely a top favorite.

This review is strictly for the $12.99 Shabu deal and the atmosphere. While it is a great and enticing way to lure customers into an inexpensive option for hot pot the portion size is very small and need add-ons for one to become full. I am very unhappy with the outdoor seating. Came here on a Sunday evening and was overwhelmed by mosquitoes. On top of that they dim the lights for whatever reason and was hard to see if the meat was cooked. The actual restaurant was used entirely for kitchen. Restrooms were nowhere to be found. I’d still come back for their cheap shabu options but beware that deal is good for a light snack and not intended to keep you satisfied for long.

Used to be a crowded restaurant. 3 waiters wording right now. At least one of them is a new trainee that doesn't know what's going on. No problem for new staff, which I understand he's learning. The sweet shrimp sushi was worse than mediocre. The popular Kokumi tofu was missing. I'm not sure if they have a new owner or not, but this place is going downhill for sure.

Great shabu place with a delicious variety of broths and appetizers. Their marinade in their Kokumi meat platter is really unique and a must try. Their Goma sauce is also one of the best I’ve had. This restaurant is all outdoor underneath a tent so the ambiance isn’t that of a fancy restaurant or date night place but it is a good casual dining place and they do keep it comfortable with heaters.

Hot pot is the main attraction. Outside seating for some might be a detractor but heat lamps and hot pot make it bearable. Beer on menu and sake cold sake at that. Choice your choice of meat and broth and enjoy. Price is not cheap but not super expensive my tab for me and my girl was about 130. Check em out I did.

lmao xd

10/10 met a princess-looking cook who looks like she can manipulate water. I also met a servant who looks like a general of a resistance.

My favorite place for shabu shabu. Why the 4 stars? Inflation is a monster and they no longer offer unlimited veggies and the bowl has gotten smaller and smaller. I usually do the share which is $12 more, but it’s 16$ now.I usually walk out with a 55$ bill. I’m looking at $70 now, give or take. The food is excellent and I will still keep coming, but I really hope unlimited veggies come back. I loved having extra greens :)
