Authentic Chinese food specializing in noodles. Beef and pork on the limited menu, no chicken.House special fried noodles with pork was excellent. Also had pork meatballs and cilantro pork dumplings. All excellent and a nice proportion.Only 6 tables, luckily 1 available when we arrived at 1:20 pm. We will come back.

I got the wife's special noodle and it was amazing. It comes out with braised beef, ground pork, tomatoes and eggs, and sliced cucumbers. You have to mix the whole thing together and the dish is greater than the sum of its parts. Everything complements each other and the noodles have a really nice bite to them. I keep thinking about it and have to come back to try their other dishes! The only thing I would add is that it's not a spicy dish but there's plenty of chili oil you can add to it. Very low key environs but you're there more for the food anyway.Vegetarian options: Cold veggie dishes are availableParking: There are like 30 spots in front. It's a little strip mall

Came by for Xmas day lunch, we wanted to try their special noodles and other dishes. So we had a party of 5, most tables were 2-4 but they had one round table that could fit more, but since it was in the corner it was pretty much bets for five so the half table is on the side of other tables. We sat down and water was self serve which is. Ice so we don't have to wait on a server. Our hostess came and took our order, she knew some English but we ordered in mandarin. We ordered wood eat mushroom, cucumber salad (looks spicy but isn't spicy), cold beef slices, wife's special noodles, and beef soup noodles. They were all great. The wife's special noodles was such a nice portion, it consisted of three flavors in a bowl with cucumbers. My favorite was tomato and egg, the meat pieces were delicious, and the noodles were steamy hot and chewy. The broth of the beef noodle soup looked bland but it was flavorful, however, our family usually likes it spicy so they had chili oil on the table which added a nice spicy flavor. The beef was tender.Glad we came to try this place, will probably come back to try the dumplings!

Every time I go to Southern California, I never forget Lao Xi'er. I've eaten there several times. It's very delicious. I don't know how to knead the noodles. It's strange that it's delicious and unforgettable. There are only a few small tables in the store, but I still want to try it. After savoring it, try to eat it fresh and hot when dining in.

And noodle/Northern Chinese cuisine, hole in the wall type cafe located in a strip mall that feels to be on the outskirts of the Arcadia area (I'm not from the area and not super familiar). I came here for dinner by myself early in the week, and there was plenty of parking in the lot. The place itself feel small and cozy. I was sat down right away from a friendly person who greeted me when I walked through the door. This place feels like a family run type shop.I ordered pretty quickly and the food came out pretty quickly as well. I ordered the Wife Special Noodles and scallion pancakes. It seems like this or the beef noodle soup is what they're known for. I had beef noodle soup the day before, so I wanted something different.I'm glad I tried this. The noodles or super tasty. The noodles were cooked well and they were chewy. The toppings included cucumber and tomato style sauce, as well as pork and beef. You had a lot of different flavors going on in this dish. All very balanced and delicious. I'm a big fan of places like this and enjoyed my dining experience very much. Definitely hoping to come back soon.

My partner swears they LaoXi Noodle house has the best stir fry intestine in the biz. Intestine is 100% an acquired taste. I remember my first time. It was weird, it didn't feel right, and I was utterly confused. But eventually, I savored in the moment and fell in love and regretted all the years I didn't have it in my life. The wife special noodles is a must try for any first timers. It's like not knowing what you want and then seeing a trio sampler is available. It's clever to come up with this to try out different toppings for your noods, but my favorite pairing has got to be their cold noodles and a plate of that chewy goodness they call, stir fried intestine.

I passed this place for a least 5 years now. Decided to come and give it a try. Everything was self service, from getting water to get the packing container for our left over food. It is a very tiny place so I would not recommend big group. Food tastes freshly made. Serving size is pretty big for me. Noodle soups meat can be swapped to different type of meat upon request. As well as the type of noodle.

I've been coming here for years and ordering the same knife cut noodles and only found out today that they have changed it! It's no longer the thin, flat style; it is now narrow and thick. The flavor is still good but I would prefer the previous style...It looks like the Baldwin location still offers that style. Not sure why.I also ordered the 炸醬麵/noodles with soy bean paste today, and it's overloaded with ginger flavor, which I don't like...avoid this if you don't like ginger but definitely get if you love it. It comes with ground meat in it so it's not vegetarian.I would have given it 3.5 stars based on my experiences today, but overall 4 for the good flavors and services all these years before and post pandemic.
