Terrible. First time I ordered from this place. I submitted my order online. Problems: Brown rice everything. Missing ingredients. Bad combinations.

Here are the details:
Everything had brown rice. I do not like brown rice with sushi. But there was no indication when I ordered that the default was going to be brown rice, or I would have asked to substitute all with white rice. Good thing I ordered Chirashi Don and Nigiri, because I was able to substitute the brown rice with leftover white rice I had at home... but regular white rice is not the same as sushi rice, so it lost some flavor.

Missing Ingredients: The vegetable tempura, they said I would get 7 pieces, but I only got 6. And there was no Kabocha (sweet pumpkin) which is my favorite. Other sushi places include it by default. The large miso soup was tasty, but it had very little tofu and wakame (seaweed), enough for only a small-sized soup.
The shumai I ordered, they were tiny pieces, about the size of the tip of a finger. Tiny.

Bad combinations: The Jessica Alba had way too much raw red onions, and the way it was wrapped was a problem: it would come apart when picked up with chop sticks. The second piece I tried tasted good, but only after I removed the excess red onions (I removed about 8 or 10 slices per sushi piece, left only 2 or 3 onion slices per piece) and ate it with a spoon (Yes, this sushi has to be eaten with a spoon).

I would not order from this place again.

Super clean and cute spot with fresh and flavorful sushi rolls. We came here 30min before closing and the staff were very polite, didn't feel rushed. Truly enjoyed the food. Highly recommend.

So, while pictured on the menu. They don’t have the lunch specials any more. 🫤
Be nice if they updated their Google pics so customers are aware.

I was just looking for a quick snack. Got a spicy tuna and yellow tail roll. They were both very nice. Fish was delicious not too much rice.

Service was great.

🐟 The salmon sashimi is super fresh and buttery, melts in your mouth with a clean ocean flavor.
🍶 A glass of cold sake makes it even better!

Whenever I crave good Japanese food on a weekday but don’t want to drive too far, I always think of Maki & Sushi, a cozy little “fashion sushi café” in Arcadia. I’ve been there countless times — it’s one of my go-to spots.

My favorites are the Omakase Sushi and Omakase Sashimi, both priced at $56.95 per set. Two people can easily share by ordering one each. The premium version includes uni, oysters, sweet shrimp, scallops, and toro, all thick-cut and incredibly fresh.

If you’re in the mood for something hot, try their teppan eel or the seasonal fried halibut — both are excellent. On regular days, I sometimes stop by alone for a quick lunch that costs just over $20. Even with omakase, the average is only around $50–60 per person. Great quality at a fair price — hard not to love this place.

Attention Los Angeles Japanese food lovers! Today I took the kids to Maki & Sushi in Arcadia — such a cozy little Japanese spot! The place isn’t big, but it feels warm and welcoming, with relaxing music and super friendly service. We went at lunchtime, and there was no line at all, plus parking was easy. Perfect for family outings or meals with friends. With four of us, we ate to our hearts’ content for just about $25 per person!

Came here with a friend and the 3-tier Omakase platter was a showstopper. The scallop and uni were my favorites, super creamy and flavorful. The Yellowtail Carpaccio was light and refreshing with just the right kick, and the Snowflakes Roll was fun and crunchy. Service was really friendly and the place had a great vibe. Totally coming back!

Tried their Sushi omakase and it was excellent -- super fresh, perfectly balanced, and a real showcase of the chef's skills. Also had the sashimi & BBQ ribs, which made for a fun surf-and-turf combo -- fresh fish paired with tender, flavorful ribs. Great spot for variety and quality!

Checked out Maki & Sushi in Arcadia, LA and it was amazing! 🍣 The shrimp fried rice was fragrant with wok hei, shrimp super juicy and flavorful. The sashimi platter was so fresh—salmon buttery, tuna sweet and firm. Loved the Hamachi Jalapeño “no-rice sushi,” fresh and zesty with a perfect kick. The special roll with tempura shrimp, tuna, avocado, and crunchy flakes was packed with texture and flavor. Every bite felt like a surprise. 🌟 Fresh ingredients, beautiful plating, and great service—highly recommend for sushi lovers in LA!
