In my opinion, if you really want to see what a restaurant is really made of you gotta visit sometime around closing... This is where I feel like a lot of businesses tend to take it easy, and the food/service ends up being mediocre at best. Mako Sushi epitomizes fast, fresh, and friendly service. I called in my order on Thursday night about 45 min before closing. I was able to navigate through their online portal via their link on Google Maps and found it very easy to access their menu. A sweet lady answered & took my order, stating it would be ready in 10 min. I ended up settling with the Tiger Roll, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Nothing over the top... and man was I impressed. The Tiger Roll was perfectly crunchy and fresh just how I like it! The avocado tasted fresh. The tuna was a delicious and fresh. Did I mention it was fresh!?!? Ahahaha I love trying mom pop restaurants, as they always seem to serve their dishes with a great deal of love. The restaurant was very clean, and the tables were pretty evenly spread out given the small size of this place. I can't wait to return and dine in for the full experience and explore the other amazing dishes they have to offer! Thank you, Mako!

Denise would answer all your questions, I got the deluxe sushi she recommended and it was big! I was super full after this meal. They would take the ama ebi head from the platter, deep fry it and drizzle some sauce. This is the first time I try shrimp head and it's very interesting, very crispy. The kumamoto oysters were on their osusume menu of the day, the kimchi ponzu sauce? goes well with it, not fishy at all. This place is pricy though...

High quality and fresh sushi. It has been more than 5 years since I've been back to this restaurant and it is as good as I remembered it to be. It is not a fancy restaurant but its sushi is top notch. Traditional sushi is heavy on the fish and lighter on the rice, and Mako Sushi keeps to that tradition. We ordered Hamachi (so fresh), Pepper Salmon (nice kick of spice), Scallops (which were topped with yuzu pepper), Salmon Belly (so good we had to get a second order), and Masago. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar and get Chef Henry if you can. We will be back soon, maybe even tonight to make it two nights in a row.

This place is sushi heaven. I know this place existed since forever and I decided to try it one day. I ordered the dinner chirashi bowl and the special salmon roll and boy they tasted so good. The bowl is stuffed with all kind of fishes and the rice is topped with finely grated sweet red ginger (I think?) and everything are just sweet/mellow and they just melts in your mouth. The portion is pretty good and I'm already full after eating 2/3 of it. I had chirashi at other places and they don't even come close like for real. If you are in arcadia and are craving for sushi this place is for you!!

Food is pretty good. Size is medium, but price is ridiculously high. Hidden cost such as extra for soy paper wrap. Be ready to be ripped off for some things.

I came here on a random night as it's not too far from me and I was surprised at how tasty everything was! This is definitely more of a neighborhood spot and they have everything from hot dishes and rolls to sashimi and nigiri. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple nigiri to share as well as a roll and agedashi tofu. The nigiri pieces were extremely generous, and it was definitely a higher fish ratio to rice. The chef also added small touches / toppings to each nigiri which was a really nice addition. They also offer a pepper salmon which is unique to this restaurant that had a good flavor as well. I was pleasantly surprised at everything we got and would definitely return for a casual sushi dinner!

This restaurant is a true gem. I'm glad I found it. From the thick cuts of sashimi to the creative garnishes, this restaurant is truly an experience.Sit at the sushi bar so you can have an intimate experience with the sushi chef. Ask for Henry.

Came here on Memorial Day 2023. Yelp the location had many great review and love to try it out. Food 3.5/5 server 1/5 Sushi - fresh. Big price (rice not as good, lack some vinegar)Server - i see what people mean...one of the Chinese lady def got me upset when i just ask her a simple question about omakase. She Couldn't even answer me and won't give me a range. After that just went downhill. First time and prob last time. First impression means a lot!

Hands down the best sushi in the area. Sushi is super fresh it's slightly expensive but the quality equals the price. Just go one time and I promise you you will be hooked.

OMG! TRADITIONAL SUSHI! i have never had fresher sushi! the sushi chefs are so skilled and everything is made to order. i am so impressed with the quality of the fish here. it's definitely not your typical sushi spot. they serve more traditional sushi. They have a very small menu variety for cut rolls. I wish they played music or something but it was so good i didn't mind at all.
