Another splendid dining experience at The Derby! Delightful decor, very professional service, delicious beef (prepared "bleu," just the way we like it!), wonderful appetizers and sides. Couldn't be any better! This is a grand establishment, serving guests for more than 100 years, and we're trying to figure out a way that we can return and return and return for the NEXT 100 years! Our favorite in the area, for sure.
We had a reservation and were seated right away, but ended up waiting an hour for our food. The space was cute and comfortable, and our server was friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite worth the wait. It was good, and the prices were fair, but nothing stood out as exceptional.
We truly have enjoyed going to the Derby. My Wife loved the Onion Soup. Last night many things changed. The wine list has been whittled down. The Onion Soup while good, is no longer bold and out standing. The front of the house service is still top notch, my guess is their best Chef's have moved on due to stability. Their regular food was good. It used to be great every time. May they got a bad batch of scallops but they were tiny compared to before. The Sea bass was “fishier”...
