New location, same amazing drinks and pastries. The pastries are house made and so delicious. Especially the olive oil cake and the cookies. Breakfast biscuit sandwiches are also so good

Best coffee in Arcata hands down!! Super good breakfast sandwiches and baked goods too. I appreciate that they’re not just a run of the mill coffee shop and put their own touch on everything they create. I will sincerely miss having them in the creamery district, as my dogs and I loved walking there and sitting outside! Looking forward to visiting their new spot though (which I hope is still dog friendly!)

I always love treating myself to a trip to La Familia. They have the best coffee in town and the snacks and lunches are perfect every time. My grilled cheese was a smidge oily, but that just means they were doing it right! The employees are chill and calm, so there's no stress or rush here. If you're ordering food, give yourself a little extra time, they're making sure the food is fresh and good.

Terrific coffee and food. The staff is very kind and went above and beyond for us, especially when be brought our baby in. Great location with really nice outside seating. It was a windy day, but still super warm bc of the protective fence.

So grateful this coffee shop is in our neighborhood! It’s the best coffee in town! Highly recommend the Cafe Miel and the olive oil cake but everything on the menu is good. Hope they expand soon with indoor tables!

Hands down, the absolute worst place in town. They should all be very ashamed of themselves.

First and foremost, this place has great baked goods and a nice atmosphere. However, very inconsistent espresso, frankly ridiculous wait times, and frequently lost orders make it a tough one to recommend.

One of the best mocha's in Humboldt, hands down. Great service, always smiling, and I need to try more of their food too. Tucked away in a corner, but brimming with exuberance! Check them out if you haven't already.

We were very happy with everything we got here: pour over coffee was very good, espresso was great, and we enjoyed the Humboldt Fog (earl grey latte), plus the baked goods were delicious. Nice spot with a low-key location, a simple outdoor area to enjoy our drinks, and vegan options to meet all of our needs.

Vegetarian options: It was easy to order vegan options, with multiple choices for non-dairy milks in the coffee, and clearly labeled pastries in the pastry case.

This place has such good food and coffee. Their ingredients and combination of them are excellent. What delicious food and coffee. Their tortilla soup and also their corn soup are amazing. Today I tried a mole latte and it was delicious. Thank you so much!

I'm heartbroken to leave a bad review, I usually give a place three visits before I'll post a review. This place only got two chances, and I wanted this place to be a big win when it opened. However, I haven't had a good experience here and that seems to be the same experience listening to friends in town. The espresso tastes bitter and acidic. And they won't make a cappuccino or latte the way you ask; no wet or dry, no half caf, no 2% (whole and oat milk only), and no customer service. They make it their way and you like it or you don't . I didn't. And the baked goods are mediocre. I reached out after my last visit to make sure I didn't just get bad baristas, or show up on a bad day, but got no reply. No third chance for Familia, too many good options nearby.

Best coffee shop in town. Every ingredient is top notch and the quality shows through in the final product. Everything I’ve had has been 10/10 delicious! Best chocolate chip cookies I’ve had.

Olive oil cake is delish, sad when it's all gone. Love going for the 5-7pm language exchange event on the first and second Fridays of the month.
