“We've loved Tomo for nearly 30 years. The veggie sushi options are always great, with the inside out roll with tempura yam our favorite. The Humboldt Hunny is also excellent, as is the Buddha Belly. The salad is always a work of art, fresh and tasty with a bit of both house dressings. (I ask for them on the side.) We've never had a problem here and invariably leave feeling happy and nourished on all levels by this longtime local favorite.”

“We absolutely love The Carriage House! This little Sunny Brae jewel is elegant, chic, and wonderfully welcoming. It’s such a nice addition to the neighborhood, and we really enjoy the warm, stylish atmosphere every time we go.

The menu is a bit of a mishmash of different styles, and we do find ourselves wishing it were just a little more adventurous, but everything we’ve tried has been solid. The short ribs with mashed potatoes are definitely our favorite. Our kids enjoyed their pasta, and my husband really liked his Philly cheesesteak. We haven’t tried the pizzas yet, but plan to next time.

The service is friendly, though we’d love to see it feel a touch more polished to match the elegance of the space. They have a cute patio that isn’t open yet — we’re really looking forward to that eventually opening because it will add even more charm.

Overall, it’s a beautiful spot with great potential, and we’ll definitely keep coming back to see how it grows!”

“Hands down the best Chinese food we have found in the humboldt area. Quick for large takeout orders and DELICIOUS! Vegetarian? No problem! You can get fried tofu subbed in any of your old favorite dishes (looking at you orange tofu and sweet and sour tofu). Good portions served family style and you always get a box of white rice with your entrees as well. Everything you’re looking for in good reliable spot to order some Chinese food. The workers are quick and professional and the food is flavorful. Make sure to check out the coconut buns and vegetable chow fun!”

“Food and services was excellent! The prices were very high so we won’t be going as often as I would like. I had chicken fettuccine Alfredo that was $42 I added a salad for $5 bucks. My drink was $12. My husband had the steak and it was cooked perfectly at $35 it came with fries.”

“Love us some Pub at the Creamery. It’s a regular spot for our weekly date night. We each get a pizza, share the house salad and get a couple of their creative cocktails. My favorite vegetarian pizza is the Greek. The husband likes the classic pizza. My favorite thing about the house salad are the roasted garbanzo beans. Their cocktails are delicious and their ice is huge and clear just like we like em! You can also get the food to go which we did last night. The hostess called when the food was ready so I could pick it up hot and fresh. So great customer service too. 👌🏻”

“Once a month or so family and friends gather for a Sunday Prayer Meeting at an Arcata restaurant. Our go to was the Alibi and we've been searching for that perfect setting since they've closed.

Well The Border Table fits the bill!

Our party of 9 ordered 2 pitchers (which each has 2 bottles of champagne!) of mimosas to start as we perused the main menu on the wall and the listed specials board which were mostly Mexican style.

Our group ordered across the offerings from waffles to chicken fried steak to huevos rancheros. All were excellent and large portions requiring several to go boxes. The service was stellar, both friendly and efficient.

Boba Monster is my first experience with Bubble Tea and Foam. I am absolutely in love. They have a great list of things to try from regular Boba and Bursting boba, Jelly's, egg pudding, The best UBE Jam in the tri state area, as well as strawberry puree. Also if your an Oreo drink connoisseur check them out! They go above and beyond. Also they have great employees from what I have experienced myself! Thanks Boba Monster! You opened a whole new world of Boba and Bubble Teas to me!
This is updated after I believe a few months now: I am so in love, this place helps to continue to make my days amazing, Top notch service, state of the art machinery! You can TEST taste their toppings before using them. THE WONDER LADIES THAT WORK HERW HAVE THE BEST DRINK TIPS! from mixing different teas to different toppings for each one don't be shy gi ahead and ask and again they offer a free taste test of the topping.
My favorite suggestions are:
+Taro milk tea (healthy!) Ube Jam (also healthy) Grass Jelly (again healthy- for your digestion!) Strawberry puree, Kiwi bursting (or your choice) and regular Boba and topped with SEA SALT FOAM!😍
My second FAV:
+THIA tea- egg pudding, brown sugar, your choice of Busting boba and regular boba topped with sweat cream OR lavender FOAM! 🥰
This is a must try and you won't be disappointed including if you ask the wonderful workers for some tips on what to get!

“What a great sushi place! So glad we stumbled upon this out of the way super tasty off the beaten path sushi place in Arcata. It’s a mom n pop shop atmosphere but the food is fine dining style. We both got a roll with salmon in it, can’t remember the names but they were both delicious. The Miso soup, tempura veggies and edamame are all bomb too. Made a mistake of ordering three sakis, they came in a nice size bottle with more than enough for the three of us. Portions are generous and the food is fresh. Got the seaweed salad this trip and it was great, nice roasted sesame flavor. This is now our favorite place to get sushi in Arcata”

“I was introduced to Kinetic Koffee by some friends in McKinleyville. While I live in a Pacific NW community with plentiful and excellent coffee selections, I have found it difficult to find a DECAF coffee which is water processed (Vs chemical processed) that I like. I lean towards an oily and strong French roast coffee and the Dekaf Decadence hits the mark for me. So, I order it online and it gets shipped to my house. They offer whole bean and a variety of grinds that fits any need. Recently, when I received a shipment of whole bean rather than the French Press grind that I ordered, I reached out to the company via email. Even during the Coronavirus pandemic, I received a quick email response (it was even on a Saturday)! Charles apologized and offered to send me the correct order at no charge! What great customer service and what a great company! Try it!”
