the cafe miel is such a treat, but the pourovers done right is where it's at for me.
Best coffee I have had on our trip so far. The food was oh so tasty! The breakfast sandwich is like none I have ever had! Totally recommend. Workers were super sweet.

FAMILIA ARCATA is a hidden gem with a super cute interior and outdoor seating. The coffee is good, described as 'damn fine,' and their roasts are bagged and on sale at good local grocers in Humboldt. The best coffee in Arcata features beautiful latte art and flavorful espresso. A good cappuccino is closer to European/Australian coffee sizing. The Molé latte is crazy good, and an iced chai latte is more spicy than sweet, making the BEST latte. Food is delicious and well made, with smaller portions. The avocado toast is on clearly homemade sourdough bread that tops any bread ever had. The quality of ingredients makes perfect sense with the price. Service is quick and friendly. There are just a few stools inside, mostly a place to wait for coffee. Outside there is picnic bench table seating, Adirondack chairs, and a whole covered seating area. The front patio is nice in the sun. The business offers real, reusable mugs for customers staying on the premises, and most of the fridge is filled with glass or aluminum canned beverages. This place is a must visit for folks stopping through or those in town.
