Hands down the best Chinese food we have found in the humboldt area.
Quick for large takeout orders and DELICIOUS!
Vegetarian? No problem! You can get fried tofu subbed in any of your old favorite dishes (looking at you orange tofu and sweet and sour tofu).
Good portions served family style and you always get a box of white rice with your entrees as well. Everything you’re looking for in good reliable spot to order some Chinese food.

Very delicious Chinese food. Some of the best I've had in a long while.
We ordered a plethora of food, per usual, all hot a quite delicious! Honey walnut prawns, orange chicken, beef fried rice, chicken chow main, Mongolian Chicken and Dumplings. Fresh veggies in the Mongolian chicken, crunchy but not raw! Perfect after a long day of showings, I did NOT want to cook. 👌

Szechuan Garden | Chinese Cuisine is widely considered the best Chinese food in Arcata and Humboldt County. The food is described as hot, delicious, and incredible, with fresh veggies that are crunchy but not raw. Popular meals include honey walnut prawns, orange chicken, beef fried rice, chicken chow mein, Mongolian chicken, dumplings, spicy beef, shrimp chow fun, pork with garlic sauce, spring rolls, and a standout trumpet mushroom dish. The restaurant is reasonably priced with decent portions, and while it is not dirt cheap, it is a sitdown restaurant. Takeout is recommended, as in-house service is not the best and the atmosphere is pretty bad, reminding some of covid. The booths are cool with a nice ambience, and the servers are nice. Food comes out fairly quickly, but note that dine-in is not available between 3-4pm, only takeout. A combo with chow mein, tofu and veggies in crock, fried shrimp, and honey walnut prawns for $65 is enough for 3-4 meals. Reviewers note that if you speak Chinese, there may be special menu items. The quality and pricing are considered the best around.
