“This is our favorite (dare I say only?) hard cider taproom in Eureka. They recently upgraded their outdoor seating area and on a fair day it’s a wonderful space to enjoy. Otherwise we either belly up to the bar or grab a table and try to play cribbage. I only say try because most decks are made up of 32 cards and theirs have definitely been played with by kids. They have varying food trucks that park right up front, you can call and ask or check out the socials to see what eats are available on what days, I only have 4stars for the reason that with food trucks it’s hit n miss. They even have a private event room for your special occasions. We usually spend about one pints worth of time there, then take our growlers home to enjoy safely. Rain or shine this is a wonderful spot to hang out for a bit. The ciders are crisp, varying, full of flavor and the service is always with a smile. Furry friends are welcome, just not on the fake grass by the outdoor seating area.”

While it was beautiful to sit outside, there was a wait so we belly’d up to the bar and watched how efficient and quick everyone worked together. Ordered a cup of their seafood chowder that had clams, shrimp and mushrooms and the Sandy Beach Sandwich with bay shrimp, bacon, green onions and cheddar cheese on grilled sourdough. Sitting at the bar we were able to see all of the food that came out! They had a hot and cold crab sandwich that both looked delicious . Their Pub Cod sandwich was huge! The Shrimp Louie salad was big and had a lot of bay shrimp on it. This place was definitely worth the wait! Don’t miss out!”

“Sals Bar is the best Bar I've ever Been to and I've been to a lot of Bars and the owner sal is an Awesome man and Honest and respectfule man with a big heart and his son and Daughter are also super Kool people the crowd that hangs out there are like the family I don't have I live sal and his family and this is the only place we're your treated like Family seriously I have nothing but good things to say about my Bar sal s zBar and Grill every thing is priced right anc the atmosphere is so cool and chilled and relaxed a place to take a load off and forget about your problems feel like you're in another world a happy world and the people are extremely friendly and loving and caring and concerned about everyone around them in a good way I've met the nicest people in this place and the best food and drinks I couldn't ask for a better place in all of Humboldt county and sells a hell of a guy hey man his son and daughter and the ones that are local to hanging out at this place but the pool tables in the jukebox and just the atmosphere is so great and loving and caring and respectful much respect you get from the crowd that ends up in this place where the regulars meet people I couldn't ask for a better crowd I'm quite the lush sometimes and I've been around to a lot of bars all over the world and honest to God this is the best place I've ever set my a** down in and had a drink and the bartenders Rock they have the nicest bartenders in the world they never get anything wrong and they're good to talk with consult with you can trust them and they're very giving and loving and caring and respectful as well I couldn't ask for a better place I tell you when I came back to eureka after I left in 09 after my girlfriend and best friend died two weeks apart I really didn't want to go on living until I went to Sal's Bar this place saved my life honest to God and I think Sal and his family for this establishment it's a great place I don't think there's a better place in all of the world to be honest with you damn good place and thats what i have to”

“Very good comfort food for breakfast. I had the lighter roast drip coffee and loved the smell. The avocado toast is very good as well as the hard boiled farm eggs. The coffee pairs very well with the avocado toast. The two together were comfort magic. They have pastries as well - I had the peanut butter cookie and the ginger molasses cookie. They were both very good and also paired well with the coffee, especially the peanut butter cookie. Without coffee, I found the ginger molasses cookie far surpassed the peanut butter cookie in flavor and texture. That’s not saying the peanut butter cookie isn’t also very good. This cafe is inside the Vance Hotel. Did Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration move across the US and change his line of work. 😜😜 The ambiance of this place is laid back/chill and conducive to reading a good book, remote work, and study. Cod that was cooked perfectly, extremely moist, yet the glaze and the sesame seed made for great texture. Prices were very fair, eclectic decor, friendly staff, and the biggest pizza oven I’ve personally ever seen.”

It was hard to replace Amy Delight's friendly service but Island Delight is the perfect place to continue the home like vibe restaurant at this location.”

“I come here wednesday every week. I never leave reviews, and I'm a harsh critic, but everyone needs to try this out. The fried pickles are 10/10 amazing. Every week they have a new special that is at least a 8/10, regularly a 9 or 10/10. A few months back they had a pulled pork sandwich special that was unbelievably delicious, an 11/10. They proudly display their trophy from winning burger week, and they deserve that and more. I love it here, and I have zero doubt you will too.”

“First time dining at smalls fusion restaurant, and it was incredibly delightful & delicious with attentive service and delectable dining choices! It was a special anniversary date night. - and this place was amazing. Yes, crab fat wings appetizer are a must -& we shared a nightly special of lamb chops, accompanied by delightful blue cheese mashed potatoes, & tasty, asparagus, cooked to perfect perfection. We topped it off with the most delicious creamy decadent dessert of a white chocolate crème brûlée that we have ever tasted! Will definitely be back and are highly recommending this place! “Overall experience and food was great. The initial wait was a little long to get the food ordered but only because waiter was the only one serving tables initially. But after another lady came in, everything was impeccable.

Got the Tonkatsu ramen - amazing.
Wife got the vegetable ramen - also amazing.
6 year old son ate an entire bowl of miso ramen - amazing for many reasons.
2 year old daughter ate 3 vegetable gyozas and many spoonfuls of my ramen - very amazing.

Oh not to mention the chicken karage was cooked on point. Juicy and tender. Kids chomped them down in seconds.

Overall, ambience is great and food is utterly delectable.

“Love my first time at this wing stop! The gentlemen that assisted us are wonderful, very patient and kind. I loved them being themselves playing music as working. Smiling having a good time whether it’s a job thats not ideal to other people but I totally appreciate them. So please note: I hope the company appreciates the workers cause no one makes the experience wonderful if it wasn’t for the staff.”
