“Absolutely phenomenal! O Bento is hands-down one of the best culinary gems in Humboldt County. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and a sense that this place really cares about quality — not just in food, but in service and vibe too.

The bento boxes are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted. The karaage chicken is crispy perfection, the salmon is buttery and tender, and the pickled veggies and sauces elevate everything. You can taste the love and precision in every bite.

What really sets O Bento apart is the commitment to ingredients. Everything feels clean, wholesome, and nourishing without sacrificing an ounce of flavor. It’s the kind of spot that leaves you satisfied but energized, which is rare.

If you’re passing through Humboldt or lucky enough to live nearby, this place is a must-visit. Easily one of my favorite meals in Northern California. Can’t wait to come back.“

“What a great sushi place! So glad we stumbled upon this out of the way super tasty off the beaten path sushi place in Arcata. It’s a mom n pop shop atmosphere but the food is fine dining style. We both got a roll with salmon in it, can’t remember the names but they were both delicious. The Miso soup, tempura veggies and edamame are all bomb too. Made a mistake of ordering three sakis, they came in a nice size bottle with more than enough for the three of us. Portions are generous and the food is fresh. Got the seaweed salad this trip and it was great, nice roasted sesame flavor. This is now our favorite place to get sushi in Arcata“

“My dinner was delicious & our table overlooked Humboldt Bay & all the boats anchored at Woodley Island. We also had delicious desserts & wine. I had a lobster sushi dinner & a cucumber salad. My friend had a fettuccine plate with French bread & a salad. They have both Japanese & Italian food!“

“Beautiful rooftop with amazingly delicious sushi!! We had the Dynamite roll, Salmon lover, and Sakura blossom and each one was so fresh and so tasty and a nice size, easy for eating in one bite.
