This is a great place to go for a casual special type of dinner.

Beautiful restaurant! The thin crust pizza was absolutely delicious! Came here because of the recommendation by a colleague.

Save yourself the disappointment! This place was amazing and my go-to when in Arcata before they “rebranded” / lost their chef / sold - whatever happened - it’s unfortunate that we lost a great local dining option.
My $44 halibut was dry, rubbery and under seasoned, the “Fritto Misto” was more like deep fried Cajun-style, resembling nothing remotely Italian, way too spicy for our kids to eat. Everything else was mediocre at best. Service was polite but seemed super stressed and overworked, they didn’t serve us together - made kids wait? We spent $60pp, only 2 had 2 drinks. I rarely write reviews but our experience was so bad I felt obligated to share.

Arrived a little early, but seated right away. Place was half full, but then got busy. Took a bit too long for the server to come by, but they were very pleasant.
Somewhat limited menu, but that's okay. If there are too many choices, I tend to wonder about quantity vs attention to detail.
Food was mostly very good. The burrata toast was much to hard to eat. Concentration on not poking a hole in the mouth prevented enjoying the flavor.
The special was filet mignon. Asked for medium rare, but got medium. Eh. It was still very tender, so I kept it.
Two things, though: we have found that far too often, in some places, the entree gets brought to the table before being able to finish the appetizers. How hard is it to have the servers understand that having all those dishes is not appealing. Second: the price! I don't mind spending premium prices if everything goes well. But not here. $140 for two people (no drinks or desserts) is a bit steep.
So, food was good but pricey. Service was good until the server showed up with entrees when we were clearly still working on the appetizers.
Probably not going to return for awhile. If.

We were given great recommendations for Salt. But, truly our experience was exceptional. We were with a wedding party in a nearby Airbnb, so it was within walking distance. From the moment we walked in, it seemed like they were ahead of every detail but not rushing us. One person in our party was injured; the hostess offered an extra chair and a blanket for elevation.
The waiter's timing and cadence were perfect for our party. We laughed and drank and truly enjoyed our evening at our leisure, even though we were there past closing. The waiter never rushed us about the kitchen closing; we just enjoyed our delicious meal.
The food was incredible. Everyone in our party was beyond satisfied; one person remarked it was the best they'd ever had. That same person mentioned they wanted to return before the trip was over. Just exceptional.

Haven’t been to Salt in a few years, and I’m really impressed with how the restaurant has evolved since my last visit. The meat pasta was excellent, and the burrata dish was fresh and well-executed. Cocktails were on point, and Ryan behind the bar was super attentive and dialed in.

Great experience! Got turned away from another pizza place in Eureka and could not have been happier. They were able to fit us in right away and everything was great! Could have been checked on maybe a little more often but also wasn’t mad that we weren’t being “babysat”. Overall a great experience!

This place has wonderful vibes! We went last year and they had a fresh oyster bar and seafood right in front of you. We were so excited to see that again this year and those features were gone. Food was okay. Service was good. Vibes were still good but definitely has taken a downhill turn from last year. I hope they stop that momentum soon.

Great meal. The octopus was the standout. The brussel sprouts were tough. Highly recommend the squid ink pasta also.

Disappointed. Thoroughly disappointed. Expensive food does not make a good restaurant. At Salt, the price is exorbitant given the mediocre-at-best fare. I left Salt hungry, penniless... and disappointed. The service was good. The atmosphere is low-cost & industrial. Nothing supports their pricing.
We will never return.

We had a bad experience here. Food took forever to arrive and one of us got his plate about 20 min later because they only have 1 pizza owen and didn't tell us that there are 5 orders before us. Their $20 bucks salad is very average and not worth the money. They claim to have house made pasta but there was only 3 dishes to chose from and they wouldn't serve pasta with any seafood due to lack of .... sauce))))) they just don't have any to pair with fish 🤷♂️ lol
Food here is average, no one was impressed by service neither. Despite only having every other table seated, we didn't even get a water refill until it was time to go. Not recommended!
We are here on vacation and had a very active day so my husband went to Salt to pick up what we assumed would be a great meal to bring back to our airbnb. Instead of being greeted with respect the little twit hostess treated him as if he were an inconvenience Instead of a paying customer. She also acted as if he couldn't pay for our food. The food by the way was of less quality than Captin D's. We ended up throwing it out the fish was over cooked and the Calamari was rubbery and tasted like the fish. This place is is not as upscale as they think they are.
