We’ve eaten at the former incarnation of this restaurant and the food was always solid. Service is not the Bay Area speed (which we love and is expected). I am giving 3 stars because I understand the staff is relatively new and there are kinks to work out. I think this place has the potential to be a consistent 5 star restaurant.Positives:1) delicious bread2) good wine selection3) cool bar seating in front of the kitchen4) friendly staff5) exciting menuNegatives1) food wasn’t properly served- I had homemade pasta ( ravioli or tortellini, I forget) that were heavily over sauced in a cheese bechamel sauce and way over cooked to the point they were falling apart2) my spouse is gluten free(celiac) and we watched the cook put gluten free vegetables in pasta water for cooking the regular pasta. He kindly asked for a different preparation, which they did. However, the issue lies in that the menu started his entree was GF, but if he didn’t observe this, would have suffered a reaction.3) my spouse had an over cooked pork chop that was dry. There’s great potential. We look forward to going back after a couple months while the kinks get worked out.
Dietary restrictions: They can do gluten free, but specify with the chef if there is ANY cross contamination in fryer oil, cooking liquids or sauce bases.

Four of us had dinner at the (new) Dogwood in Arnold. The food and service were excellent. The server knew the menu well and made great suggestions. We tried many things as this was our first time at the newly re-opened restaurant. We shared Arancini and the Steam Pot for appetizers, both very good, flavorful. Four steaks for the table, two rib-eyes with demi-glaze and two filets with herbed butter (you get a choice of sauces, sides like caramalized onions are offered too). There was a dessert special - chocolate cake with whipped peanut butter frosting, amazing! Absolutely get this if it's on the menu. A great experience overall, we will definitely be back.
New owners this year. Decent restaurant, a better replacement from the original from ~9 years ago when the menu was mostly grilled meat dishes. More varieties in the menu as not all of us are meat lovers. I think the last owner changed the menu to be more varied but we didn't try since our last visits about 9 years ago. This review is for the new establishment. We ordered 4 mains (seafood pasta, lamb shank, rib eye, and duck breast), crab dip appetizer and salad.Crab dip is good to share for 4. All mains except the duck breast are good. Duck is overcooked and under sauced IMO. More on this.Duck IMO should be cooked like a red meat steak and not like a chicken where more cooking is needed to kill all the bad stuffs from chicken farming practice in this country. The duck I had was cooked more like a chicken: well done. Color is like that of chicken dark meat. Good, but could be better as the meat is dry and tough just like a well done steak (which some of you preferred so highly subjective review here). I was expecting medium rare and lathered with a sweet/savory sauce which might be there but too little to notice with my dish. Portion is on the small side, about 6 ounces in my estimation so be prepared to dip into your companions dishes assuming they don't all order duck.High marks for the free bread as this is a reliable indicator of how a serious the chef is to good food. The bread was warm and fresh, and the olive oil/balsamic vinegar is of good quality done with a glazed (more gooey) balsamic. 5 stars here. Will come back for sure. Hopefully the chef will do something about the duck breast

This place re-opened just 3 weeks ago after the death of the original chef/owner. The food is really delicious and the new chef has come up with some innovative menu choices. We sat outside on the heated terrace, had super service from Heather, drank wonderful Zinfandel and generally had a great time. It was such a surprise to find this restaurant in what we assumed would be a sleepy town. We absolutely recommend it.
Really not good place …Explore other (although rather limited places ) in the area.Money is hard to come by …Do not spend here…

I finally got around to having dinner at this establishment. Excellent wine choices and the dinner menu is definitely on point. Don, Brandon, Steve and Krystal are extremely friendly and the dinner came out super fast and in good succession. The dessert menu, it is extremely hard to make a choice, they are all handmade and conjured up personally by the establishment.- Carl
The best rib eye I have ever had. Have had several meals and have been amazed every time.
I had the halibut which was amazing! It was accompanied by asparagus and a rice which was incredible... The wine was superb and one we have never had before... The waitress was outstanding.. The only complaint was my partner had the brisket and was given a piece with mostly fat, very little meat. For the price we would expected an exceptional cut or 2 pieces. The flavor was good but given the fact there was only 3 bites of real meat on on the portion was disappointing. It was a lovely evening and if we go back we won't order the brisket.

Due to trouble with our car battery, my wife and I had to find a place for dinner within walking distance of our inn, and Dogwood was close. They are a reservations-only restaurant but they made a space for us, anyway. The restaurant was cozy and beautiful, our table with right by the window with a nice view of the snow outside, the service was prompt and exceptional, and the food delicious. We had the calamari, steak and chicken, cooked and seasoned to perfection. This place was a pleasant end to a hard day of skiing and car stress.
We had been hearing good things about Dogwood for a while so, went for our anniversary dinner. Friendly service and good food, nice wine selection. Good for special occasions. There is seating at a bar overlooking the kitchen and it was empty. I would come back and have a seat there for appetizers and salad. Overall a good first impression. I’d go back.

Wonderful food and service! However, $51 for 3 scallops, s scoop of rice and fresh sautéed string beans...really? It was a special and I didn’t ask the price, but still. Ask before ordering!
Favorite restaurant in Arnold! The food, atmosphere and service are all exceptional. A must-go!
