“I have been in here a few times now passing through. They have phenomenal Mexican food, I was blown away with it out in the cuts how it is near the forest. I used to live in San Diego and eat Stockton taco trucks. This is very good Mexican food right here. I believe they have like an super ultra burrito, OMG that thing is enormous. After doing a big hike I get that and no matter how hungry I am it feels me up and makes me feel very good. 5 stars for the customer service and amazing food. ?”
“We had bruschetta to start. We both had spaghetti and meatballs for our main course. For dessert I had creme brulee and my husband had Italian Lemon Cream Cake. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious.”
“We came at off hours and the place was packed. We're a family of 4 with small kids and there was nowhere to wait for a table. There's also only a few tables to begin with. We were planning on waiting in our car, but just left because everyone was too hungry to wait for the table and then food. I was very disappointed that there weren't more tables, especially outside where a lot more could fit. It's definitely not a spot for a group or with small kids.”
“We ordered EL Vaquero catering for a large family party. I called and spoke to the manager Alde and she was very accommodating and helpful. We ordered chicken and asada for tacos, quesadillas, rice, beans and cheese enchiladas and everything was FABULOUS! Everyone loved the food. They even helped accommodate us when the pick up time changed the week of. We were very happy with El Vaquero and will definitely be back soon!”
“I haven't been home in a while, so I was happy to see Arnold Chinese still open after covid. I have fond memories of going to lunch with my mom and her coworkers here. The updated menu is delicious and you can't beat the Lunch Special prices! I got the lunch special Hot spicy chicken (comes with veggies sautéed). My mom cannot have gluten so they made beef and veggie soup that she can have (forgot to take a picture, and soup of the day comes with lunch special), and chicken in garlic sauce and mixed vegetables. The serving portion was great! I haven't tried their dinner specials but will definitely come back.”
“Four of us had dinner at the (new) Dogwood in Arnold. The food and service were excellent. The server knew the menu well and made great suggestions. We tried many things as this was our first time at the newly re-opened restaurant. We shared Arancini and the Steam Pot for appetizers, both very good, flavorful. Four steaks for the table, two rib-eyes with demi-glaze and two filets with herbed butter (you get a choice of sauces, sides like caramalized onions are offered too). There was a dessert special - chocolate cake with whipped peanut butter frosting, amazing! Absolutely get this if it's on the menu. A great experience overall, we will definitely be back.”
“We tried this new restaurant last night, it was so delicious. The place is so cute, I can't wait until the spring for outdoor seating. The owner was serving us, she is so sweet and attentive. All meals include soup or salad, I had the salad so fresh, my husband had the soup he said it had great flavor. The chicken penne pasta was so full of flavor, and my husband's lamb chops were very tender. Large portions of food. So many items I plan on going back to try. I'm so excited to have a great restaurant in Arnold. The sandwiches for lunch also look amazing. Forgot to mention the wine selection, great choices, they had me at Rombauer!”
“Super cute yummy ice cream shop. Make sure you stop in for a treat, do not pass it up. Love that you aren't distracted by 51 flavors. Limited flavors meals you can try them all. Great tasting and super creamy real ice cream. Prices are fair. Staff friendly and helpful in recommendations.”
“We had our wedding reception at Snowflake Lodge and Rob and the crew did a stellar job. Such a great venue for a wedding reception. The food was great too! Highly recommend!”
“Ate breakfast here between Xmas and the new year. The food was good, and the atmosphere was entertaining. The reason the service got a 4 star is as follows: when I ordered coffee the waiter asked if I wanted any cream, I answered yes, I never saw the cream. Later when giving me a refill, he asked if I need cream, I answered yes. I never did get my cream. Fortunately, the coffee was great and was good without cream. If you order bacon with your breakfast, you get four strips! The hashbrowns were fair to middling. We will eat here again when we return to Arnold.”
“Amazing customer service from both the manager and MacKenzie (? unsure how to spell the name). They served our entire Boy Scout Troop with amazing food and I am very grateful we have a reliable place to eat whenever we stop nearby Arnold in the future.”
“Absolutely the best in the area! I can not sing enough praise for this restaurant. Go if you have the chance tooKid-friendliness: They went above and beyond for my son. My son even said the crew was his favorite part of our trip to the area. 10 out of 10 recommend.”
“Wow went to the soft opening for their “After Hours” dinners for Thursday - Saturday nights if I understand it correctly. Amazing Filipino-American cuisine. Chef Beverly is creating a dining experience that will change frequently and stay interesting and great. Everything we tasted today was fresh, original, and epically delicious! We definitely recommend checking it out!”
“Yummy pizza, great staff and decent wait time. Dough was tender with a slight sweetness. The sauce had a little kick that paired well with with the dough. We will be back!”
“We really enjoyed our meals and loved how family friendly it was. We were able to walk in and be seated immediately. It did take a bit for our food to come out, but it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend it.”
“Ultimately the best apple fritter, donuts and pies aroundBest fresh right out of the ovenI can’t decide what I like better the soft sugar coated donuts or the crisp apple fritters.I do like the crumb pie over the regular. You cannot go wrong stopping here …food is delicious and worth the stop”
“Cute little road side spot. Great quality scratch made food. Such a pleasant surprise to find such amazing quality from a tiny little place out in a small town. A must every time we come out to the area now.”
“You should get in here soon !We rolled in on 12/31/23 around 9. We Met the manager Meggs and everything else was wonderful. We had not come since the place had changed hands and that was our loss. The bar is cool, the lighting is fun AND the place has a legit old school shuffle board. They have live music on Saturday nights. All the boxes are checked for us and we look forward to coming in again soon !❤️Xoxo,Cher & Bill”
“Last August, I visited Camp Angel and Murphys with 4 friends, I discovered this little wine bar, and my fellow traveler said he could drive for me, so I had a cup of beer, it tasted so beautiful. So it was so much fun to find this unforgettable place on my map a year later...”
“We found Pablo's Basecamp at the end of Murphy's Main St. on a cold winters eve and it seemed like just the right time to share a burrito with my husband. Yes share, bc it was huge and for the amazing price of $10, and that was the supreme (with avacado & sour cream). The burrito was delicious, the staff super friendly and what a quaint atmosphere with the lights and Holiday feel.”
“Not only was the iced mocha latte delicious, we were greeted with great customer service. Since we were visiting the area, Shawnee was able to give us amazing recommendations on places to try and visit. She was super friendly and extra helpful. Would definitely recommend if you're in to good coffee!!”
“A highlight of our weekend trip to Murphy's! In terms of wine, the merlot was my favorite. But there is so much more to see here. Pamela is so sweet, full of interesting stories, and has an incredible amount of knowledge. Winemaking, blacksmithing, camping, throwing and firing pottery, and gardening are just a few of the things you will find going on at Brice Station. Apparently there is even live music in the summer!”
“Love Gyro's, so had to give it a try! Our party of four walked in and were seated right away. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was incredible and the gyro did not disappoint the restaurant was not very busy, but I'm hoping more people will try. The place was clean and very nice decor. Could be a little warmer inside, but I will be back to try other menu items.”
“Beautiful, new outside sign! The place was packed Sunday afternoon. Awesome ambience. Terrific staff. Food looks delicious. Everyone says it's delucioys! They have a varied menu.”
“Decided to spend a couple hours in Murphys because it's such a cute area for wine tasting. I had never been to Tuscanos but my friend had raved about it so I thought I'd give it a try. The appetizers were surprisingly tasty. How much can you expect from chicken wings, calamari and bruschetta? The chicken wings were covered in this tangy/garlicky sauce that just punched your mouth with flavor. They're definitely finger licking good. One order was not enough for four hungry adults. The bruschetta was light, refreshing and flavorful; and the calamari was thankfully not soggy or tasteless which can easily happen. The Caesar salad was good, I certainly finished it, but I cannot tell if I ate it all because I was soo hungry or because it was so good nonetheless it satisfied my craving. The Philly sandwich unfortunately lacked seasoning and the pasta was good but nothing spectacular. The service was great, seemed like there were only two ladies working the whole restaurant and they managed to do an excellent job.”
“Great wines and times. The tasting room is warm and cozy. You will enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly people that work here. I highly recommend this place as one to visit while in Murphys. We will be back!”
“This bread is awesome! The crust is perfectly crunchy and the bread is slightly spongy and soft. Was worried the "very sour" would be to sour but nope- It was perfect. Hope we can get this in SF.”
“Wonderful spot in a wonderful town (shhh... don't tell anyone about Murphys CA). Grounds consistently serves fresh, tasty, well-prepared California cuisine at good prices. I especially enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer (massive and chock-full of actual crab) and their burgers are on-point too. Great locally focused wine list and very classy cocktails. Their sister restaurant, Firewood, dishes out more casual fare and our kids love the pizza there.”
“We visited on 3/21/24, had lunch on the deck and enjoyed the spectacular flowers.Lunch was a bit pricey and unremarkable, but we weren't there for the food. :-)”
“I am not a man given to gushing, but good lord above the Jambalaya here is something you need to try before you die. I make my own jambalaya at home. I own multiple forms of file powder. I was in the area on what is likely my last trip as we are selling our family cabin, but I would and will make the seven hour trip again over that dish and the excellent service and atmosphere. The owner told me she'd never seen one person consume an entire bowl of her jambalaya alone.I would've done seconds and dealt with the consequences. 10/10.”
