After our hike at the Calaveras Big trees, we were looking for a place to eat and google recommended us this restaurant. The wait for just few minutes, the ambience was great and clean and restrooms were clean too. The portion sizes were reasonable but the price was simply exorbitant! A surcharge of 20% at a small town like Arnold seems not acceptable. Do check the prices before you order to avoid surprises. Few items were offered to us like being part of the entree but were actually not. The food was good though but not at Manhattan prices.

Kalamata is our very favorite restaurant in Arnold. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Food is consistently good. I could live off of their Greek salads with blackened salmon or prawns. The moussaka was delicious for a more decadent meal. It's a place we can take the whole family. The kids love to split one of the pasta entrees, or you can get traditional kid dishes as well. We are so happy Kalamata has made a home in Arnold.

We wanted to highlight this restaurant amongst all the other options in town because 1) They weren't serving greasy pub food and in fact was quite good (esp the lamb chops) 2) The interior was nicer and a proper sit down restaurant and we were treated with good service. After having had several greasy and meh dinners this was a breath of fresh air.
