Food is excellent! The only place I found idlis as soft as cloud. All selections are of such high quality. My take away bag was ready when I came to pick up. Order on the phone was perfectly taken. Will return!

Thali Time Thali means plate/platter. Ordering thali at an Indian restaurant means a set meal, consisting of several small bowls of various dishes (called katori), arranged on a platter (thali). I've never ordered thali, so I did some research on restaurants in Little India. I found Bhimas Vegetarian's unlimited thali cost $11.99 & $12.99, whereas other nearby restaurants' thali cost $14.99 (single serving) & $17.99 (unlimited). $17.99 seemed a lot for a vegetarian "buffet", so I opted to go for Bhimas' less costly thali. Bhimas Vegetarian has 3 thali to choose from - Andhra Spicy/Non-Spicy South Indian, and Special North Indian (+$1) Special North Indian thali- A lot of food, of which nothing was particularly remarkable. Sambar didn't have enough heat. I was surprised basmati rice wasn't utilized. While filling, I didn't find much satisfaction in the Special North Indian thali at Bhimas. Service was good. The gentleman taking orders also prepped & brought out the food. The interior of the restaurant is drab and leaves a lot to the imagination. Parking is via a private lot at the 2-story Little India Village, with Bhimas Vegetarian located on the right, at the end of the plaza. My first time with thali, and I left disappointed. The plates upon plates of Indian food weren't pleasing to my palate. I suppose I should check out the more expensive thali options mentioned prior, as it may be in this case, you get what you pay for.

We went this place and order 2 different types of thali and the food in both thalies were same. They just name them different but the food or the items were same. It was cold and feels like frozen food that they just little warm up and bring it on the table. Taste was gross. Only one person was working who was cooking and serving as well. I asked that person to bring chutney and pickle he brought very old dry pickle in all the jars same pickle. Looks like didn't change since a year. Very bad customer service and food quality. Don't go their and waste your money and also spoil your day

Review based on my pre-COVID visits: This restaurant used to be our pit stop when we drove from San Diego to Artesia for Indian grocery shopping. Conveniently located below my favorite eyebrow threading place. I've tried their dosas, thali & sambar rice. Reasonably priced food. Love the portions served, food quality and the ambience. Service could be faster. But it's understandable on busy days. Also, make sure you mention the spice levels especially while ordering thalis

The food is usually good, we come here often. We placed an order and I think we were the last order for the day. The food was just terrible and everything tasted like rubber, I couldn't even take a bite. The chilly panner was made using old paneer and my wife threw up after eating. I tasted it and it was the worst thing I have ever had in my life! I am not sure if the pictures reveal something. We end up going to in n out as everything else was closed. I will call them tomorrow morning and see what the management has to say.

Great place for authentic Indian food, had bisibele bath which was just delicious! Their Andhra spicy thali was really tasty as well. Value for money and great food!

Took me right back to when I visited bhimas in Bangalore many years ago. Got the Andhra spicy thali and there was so much good food I was in a food coma after the meal. The rasam was delicious with a slight kick and the sambhar was fantastic (arachu vutta) with blended coconut for taste. Overall their South India food was spot on. Some of the best value I've seen for Indian food in and around LA county. They also outperformed with a Karnataka delicacy, the bisi bele bath which was soupy in it's consistency like it's supposed to be. Will be going back again soon.

The service here is really slow, but the food is worth it. Can't go wrong with anything that's on the menu tbh.
