I met my friend here for lunch as it is one of his go-to places for Tawainese/Chinese homestyle food. He ordered us a good amount of things to try - including the Three Cups Chicken, Stinky Tofu, pork spare ribs, Tawainese sausage and buns, and veggies. We had plenty to eat and everything was delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with the food here.

Haiku: Canaan Restaurant Taiwanese breakfast Soybean milk, rice rolls, meatballs Only on weekends. --- Canaan is possibly one of the only full-service Taiwanese breakfast joints in the Cerritos/Artesia. This is a spot where I take my out-of-towner friends who are craving these delights from Taiwan. My faves to order: - Sweet soybean milk (cold): A refreshing sweet beverage if you like the taste of soy. - Salted soymilk: This is the less common soymilk that's served hot in a bowl with savory fixings. - Twisted Cruller: Fried dough (aka you tiao) to dip in the soymilk. - Purple Rice Roll with Egg: Think of a rice burrito stuffed with you tiao, floss, and egg. - Taiwanese meatball: A jelly casing stuff with savory pork filling served with a sweet sauce. Service can be slow. Just flag someone down if you need anything.

5 star food with 10 star Taiwanese/Chinese service. The interior is modern and clean. They used to have fish tank ages ago, to showcase the freshness of the seafood, but I guess animal activists sentiments took care of that. Onto the food. Being Taiwanese-borne, I asked for the dark vinegar when the noodles arrived that's how everyone eats it in Taiwan, presumably Asia. The waitress informed they do a 3 circular pour of the vinegar and if it was insufficient, I could request more. The acidity was in tune to my liking. I also haven't had stinky tofu for ages, and since I've been watching so many Chinese food tour videos, like Blondie in China, I felt compelled to order it. It's the priciest stinky tofu in the world, but the taste and portion makes up for it. So the sticky rice wasn't to my liking because it was the only item I left behind half eaten. The super nice Taiwanese, she could be Chinese, waitress asked if they could make me a new one. By then, I'm already done with my meal so I passed on the offer. She comped the sticky rice dish that I consumed half of. This is how restaurants are supposed to be run. I came for the good food and walked away with a great customer experience!!

Family has been going here for as long as I can remember. The food is pretty authentic, and hits the spot whenever I want a taste of home. Love coming for their breakfast and dinner. Portion size has gotten smaller over the years and price more expensive, but not much can be helped about that. Would recommend their 三杯豆腐 (three cup tofu) 臭豆腐(stinky tofu), and 甘草牛河 (beef stir fry noodles). Service is pretty great too (shoutout to Sue).

Customer service is questionable. A lady at the front counter (no glasses) takes us to a 2 person table for a party of 4 adults. We are all Asians. We ask for a table next to us. She replied it was for 5-6 persons. Yet there is a party of 3 person sitting at the same size tab

Consistently good food and service. Right in a corner of the plaza but definitely a place to go!

Comfort Taiwanese restaurant. They sell stinky tofu, best in the area.

Fantastic, authentic Taiwanese restaurant in Cerritos, not far from the Mall. So happy to have this place somewhat near us so you don't have to go all the way to San Gabriel/Monterey Park for really good Chinese. In fact, more than a few of their dishes are on a par if not better. Everything I've had there is delish, but Fish in Black Bean Sauce is amazing, as well as their Rice Cakes Shanghai Style, Shrimp with Broccoli, Sweet n Sour Pork, Fried Pork Chops, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Orange Chicken, etc.

You don't have to drive to Monterrey Park to get your fix of great Taiwanese food. In fact, some of the dishes they serve here are better than the ones in the 626. This is the spot to satisfy your Taiwananese food cravings. All of the dishes we tried were delicious, authentic flavor. Portions were good, even had enough leftovers the next day.The restaurant is clean. The service staff are all friendly and accommodating.
