Customer experience was awful. The employee was not giving a good attitude and only gave 1 spoon (there were 4 of us).

So so so sad this place has closed! My husband and I came here over the years and would have been here every day if we could lol! This was hands down the best taiyaki and the owner was so friendly. I hope he opens another location in the future as we would be loyal customers. Everything we ever tried here was top notch and they 100% deserve their perfect score. It was a hidden gem and I believe if in a more high traffic area, this would have been a HOT spot. So glad we were able to take many family members here and that our 1 year old daughter.

This place is so cute! As soon as my party of 5 walked in we were offered free samples of the ube, pineapple, and strawberry flavors! All so good! They have so many different drink and ice cream options! I got the taiyaki fish cone with nutella and ube flavor ice cream!

Really nice family owned business :) they let us sample the flavors before we ordered and gave some really good recommendations. Overall it was a great experience

The rudest guy ever !!! The main one idk if he's the manager . Lol but I simply asked the girl light ice that was making my drink before she sealed my cup I called her 5x didn't want to keep calling until she got to me with her time it was okay with me . Well unfortunately after she sealed it she told me the drink was already made I said can I please have light ice . The guy yells with an aggressive attitude with my son next to me " what do you want !? It's berly ice there !??? I didn't say nothing and he comes up to me again ! And raise his voice again telling me bring me the cup in my face saying look berly ice and shaking my darn drink , and I just automatically says can I just please have a refund.. He gives it to me all sloppy and not correct change I just left I was not going to argue with a grown ass man especially infront of people !.. Never again poor attitude. I know he's the owner .

Best place to get a dessert! Everyone was so kind and all the soft serves were so good. I hope to try their boba ice cream and boba crème brûlée!

**closing in 2 weeks on 8/21 forever**I'm sad that I didn't discover this place til today and was informed by the friendly owner that he'll be closing the store on 8/21 due to rent increasing on his lease.I tried samples of the soft serve Ube, black sesame, and matcha and all were very strong and delicious. I opted for the black sesame since that was more unique to me with the custard filled taiyaki cone. I'm a SomiSomi regular and the soft serve was just as creamy, but flavor was stronger than SomiSomi. The taiyaki cone was warm and crispy, and owner didn't skimp on custard. In terms of size, the cup and soft serve is smaller than SomiSomi.Highly recommend.

Ah-boong!Gesundheit!No, that's what I want to eat. Ah-boong! Cone Appetit is a dessert & drink shop, specializing in ah-boong - soft serve in a taiyaki (fish) cone. After an exhausting day fishing Catalina Island, I needed a frozen sweet treat to celebrate my jackpot fish.yelp.com/user_local_phot… I'm a cup, not a cone, guy. I find cones to be messy to eat. Included with the price are 2 toppings & 1 drizzle. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Matcha & vanilla swirl-yelp.com/user_local_phot… Originally wanting ube/matcha swirl, I was told the only swirl options were ube/black sesame & matcha/vanilla, plus the flavors of the day. Thusly, I went with matcha/vanilla. The Cone Appetit cup looked rather small, but when filled high with soft serve, proved to be a satisfactory amount. I chose graham crackers & almonds for the toppings, condensed milk for the drizzle. The soft serve had the ideal consistency, and wasn't too sweet for me. Service was good. The cashier was friendly, and let me sample their soft serve flavors. Cone Appetit is open Thurs - Sun, with plenty of parking at a shared private lot. The shop is located west of 7-Eleven. Cone Appetit hit the spot! Their cold soft serve satisfied my sweet tooth, and I was quite happy upon finishing my cup of delightfulness. I'm itching to come back for more, and perhaps having a refreshing boba drink, as well.

Walking in, I noticed their indoor decor was really cute. The employees were super nice, they greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us some samples. Out of the samples we received, my favorite was their ube soft serve. Coming in, I was set on getting a drink, but when I come back I will definitely get a cup of their ube soft serve. I got their mango green tea with lychee jelly, which I thought was refreshing. However, I tried my sister's drink, berry peachy, and I thought the taste of the drink was a bit off. I got to try their boba, which had the perfect consistency, and what surprised me most is that the only place I enjoy boba in a fruit tea is Tastea, but they did NOT fall short. They definitely made it work.

Friendly and quick service. Went here on a whim after heading back from DTLA. When we said it was our first time, the owner gave us some ice cream samples to try, I really enjoyed the pineapple sorbet, it was so refreshing but ended up getting the berry peachy which is one of their popular drinks. It was good, pretty refreshing which I was looking for. I wouldn't mind coming back to get their pineapple sorbet.

Stopped by here last night on a whim and we're so glad we did. My partner ordered the ube and black sesame taiyaki soft serve. The taiyaki was soooo incredible. I wish that they offered the dessert option for a filled taiyaki here! Amazing service here. The guy who served us (I have to assume he's the owner) was funny and offered ample samples. Would say that the service we received is enough to make customers want to go back, because we sure do! Parking: Convenient because the store is in the corner of a small plaza!

Haiku: Cone AppetitTaiyaki soft serveMatcha & black sesameI want some right now. ---I'm a late bloomer when it comes to discovering this dessert shop. I'm a fan of the Japanese taiyaki, but this is a different spin on that classic dessert. I usually choose matcha and black sesame ice cream swirl and they make the fish-shaped (taiyaki) batter into the grates fresh when ordered. At Cone Appetit, they place a stuffed taiyaki (with custard or nutella) on top of a creamy, swirled ice cream.I've come twice in a week and the ice cream is consistently creamy, not watery or icy. The freshly-made taiyaki is also consistent with a perfect outer crisp and soft and cakey inside. The inside reminds me of that mochi stretch too. Tip: Since the taiyaki is made fresh it's usually hot when placed over the ice cream. When you receive it, quickly take off the taiyaki fish otherwise it'll melt the ice cream.Note: Make sure to check their hours before coming. It's not opened every day; it's opened Friday through Sunday.

Parking: The parking lot is a bit small and was a bit tricky to find when I first came. I came on an off time on a Sunday so I was able to find parking easily. If you can't find parking I would suggest you wait a bit or try to find parking on the street. Customer service: The man who took my order was very nice. He greeted us when we came and said bye and thanked us when we left. The ice cream also came out very quickly. I only had to wait about 5 minutes. Order: I ordered the Taiyaki cone with the matcha and black sesame soft serve with red bean on the bottom. The matcha and black sesame really complemented each other really well because one was a bit more sweeter and the other was a little bitter. If you're with your kids or have tastebuds on the sweeter side I would suggest you go with another flavor. The ice cream was melting fast because the Taiyaki was made fresh and but right on top. If you don't want your ice cream to melt quickly I would suggest you ask them to put your Taiyaki on the side. Inside/seating: It's a smaller place for an ice cream shop. They have about 3-5 tables to sit inside. It can get pretty packed if they have a rush of customers so just a heads up. If you are looking for seating outside they do not have any. Overall: This was a cute little mom and pop place. Highly recommend coming by on a hot day for a sweet treat with your fam or friends. You will definitely leave happy after your visit!Extra: If you aren't in the mood for ice cream they also have boba drinks on their menu.
