The server lady was so unfriendly. She told me to sit where dirty boxes were piled on the chair, and the table was also dirty, so I had to ask her to clean it before she cleaned it.

Foods are really good. The reasons why I gave them 3 stars are that the servers were awful, the utensils were dirty and flies were flying on the table. It was my first time visiting. So, I asked the server which one was better between black bean noodles and Jjambbong. (Last time I went to a Jjambbong restaurant, but Jjambbong was really bad and black bean noodles were more delicious)I wanted her to recommend me one of those that they are confident with and good at. She told me that these two are totally different and what I meant with the embarrassing face. It seems like she didn't get my point at all. It was fine. She looked like a Chinese Korean. But the most uncomfortable thing was that after she got our order and went back to the counter, she was sarcastic and gossiping about my question to her co-worker and laughing loudly so that the cook even asked her what was going on. I can hear enough of what they are saying, and I saw her. She noticed it, and they started speaking in Chinese. Is it normal for servers to gossip and be savage to customers so loudly that the customer can even notice what they are saying?음식은 맛있는데 서버하시는 분들이 무례함. 식기가 더럽고 날 벌레가 많아요.

I ordered Jajangmyeon and Kung Pao Chicken, but they were really bad and the Jjamppong soup wasn‘t fresh.

We got there during Busy Busy lunch time on Sat. We barely sat at the table at the entrance. I was not feeling comfy. The customers passed right our table at the door. No relax this time. We got the menu for special lunch. Small portion w less expensive. We ordered fried dumplings, chicken w lobster sauce, and chicken kungpao. The foods were delivered so fast even thou they had lots of Take out orders. I liked the fried dumplings, Juicy and crunchy. For the chicken kungpao, I give 3 stars, missing something. Spicy but not really flavorful. The chicken pieces are too small, I couldn't taste the chicken. We both liked chicken w lobster sauce, mild, so creamy, soft shrimps w lots of veggies. I give 4 stars. Overall, I was not relaxed due to the corner of the entrance. People and the staff bothered me. However, I want more fried Dumplings. Today's best was fried dumplings.

Randomly found this Chinese/korean place on Yelp bc I wanted some jajangmyeon! Inside it looks like your typical jajangmyeon restaurant, but don't let that discourage you from trying their food. Everything was flavored perfectly here, and love how they don't skimp out on the quantity here. To me, jajangmyeon usually tastes the same everywhere. But idk how they do it here, but it's def the best black bean noodle I've had in oc/la. I also ordered sweet and sour shrimp and mongolian beef and both were delicious! Togo is def the way to go and they are very fast at getting your order ready!

Came in at 8 PM on a Sunday, and it was surprisingly empty despite good reviews. Went for the black bean noodles and champong, both Yelp recommendations. Noodles were a bit overcooked, but the sauce and soup had a good flavor. I might try this place again to try other menus.

Craving for black bean noodle (jajangmyeon). This place has a very good rating and based on friend’s recommendation, we ordered jajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork to go. Quick service, they kept the package opened until we arrived (to keep the food from getting soggy) and the taste…… super delicious. The go to place for black bean noodle.

Overall very good food. We usually get it Togo, but casual dine-in is good too. Pork Tangsuyuk, jjampong, nurungji tang, nanja wance are good.

One of the last Korean style Chinese food spots in Cerritos/Artesia area and they make them fast and good. Not much of ambiance but comfort foods warm your heart and soul all the way!

OMG!!!! I found the real Chinese Korean style restaurant near Cerritos. Haha...my wife searched for over an hour then finally she said, let's go to try tonight. We ordered 3 items, sweet n sour pork, shrimps w hot garlic sauce, black been noodles w drink, Soju. I bite the shrimp, Omg......melted in my mouth. Perfect balance w garlic, chilis. Even sweet n sour pork is bomb. Super crunchy and rich sauce gives more flavors. And black bean noodles, I said right away this is the best noodles I never had. I go over the reviews on Yelp if I go to the new places, 70% of reviews are correct, and I am confident the reviews w 4 stars. Tonight was big success for my wife and I. The location is less than 6 miles and we can take out any time any foods. The owner is very friendly and attentive. We had lots of leftover foods and she gave us To go boxes, no problems to take all. Pros Price, quality, service, portion: 5 stars Lunch special hour: 11 to 3 Mon to Sat I strongly recommend this hidden jem for the catering, or just lunch, dinner take out. My wife picked the great Chinese restaurant tonight and we both were so happy. What a wonderful night!!! We really enjoyed our comfort foods. Thanks for the service. We got the free dessert, sesame balls. Love it! I like they serve the free hot tea, cabbage kimchi too. I can't wait to taste the lunch menus.

These days Korean dramas and shows are becoming more common in the US than ever before. I remember the days when I had to go to the local Korean video rental shop and get whole series on 10 VHS cassettes or finally when we went digital, 10 DVDs haha. As times have changed it's gotten easier to access Korean media and with that, more people are getting exposed to the Korean food I loved growing up. You might have watched shows like Running Man or Run BTS and seen how coveted a food prize was. The slurping of jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or highlighter yellow pickled radishes served with kimchi to add texture and flavor on the side. Food is such an important part of Korean culture and it's no wonder a place like Hsiang Yuen stays on my mind when I think of excellent Chinese Korean food; it's been there since I was a kid. Backstory about Chinese Korean Food There's been a lot of theories on how the specific type of Chinese food Koreans love was created. Some people stated it was Chinese cuisine created by Koreans which is why it's so different than the Chinese food you see from China or other parts of Asia. For a long time that's what I thought too, but I remember going to these types of restaurants and though the aunties and uncles who worked there spoke Korean I remembered they also spoke fluent Chinese. This is the reason why I believe in the second theory: this style of Chinese food is from a specific part of southern China that became popular when it arrived to Korea and has been adopted as Korea's version of Chinese food ever since. Food So what attributes does Chinese Korean food taste like? It is a bit sweeter, less spicier, and leans more towards the balance between the two. That's why items like jjajangmyeon has a more uniform black bean sauce than the type you might get from a Chinese or Taiwanese restaurant. It is smooth in texture with only the diced cucumbers, onions, and beef mixed with the noodles. The deep fried dumplings were always a favorite of mine. Fried to a crisp the interior is still moist, hot, and has a bit of chewiness left over from where the fried exterior and meaty interior meet. The sweet and sour pork is completely different than the ones you get at fast food Chinese restaurants like Panda Express. No hyper pigmented colors of pink or red for the sauce. Instead, the pork is coated lightly and deep fried separately and then a clear sauce with pineapples, mushrooms, onions, and carrots is poured over. It is one of my favorite things with the crunch of the pork bursting with the flavor of the sauce. Matching that with kimchi, pickled radish, and rice is a perfect combo. Though other outstanding food comes to mind (like their deep fried hot and sweet shrimp) it's the three above that stands above and true in all Korean hearts when it comes to Chinese food. As far as the ambience goes, the dining room is small and feels like a mom-and-pop shop, as it has been for decades. Nothing there feels flashy or ornate. It's the kind of place you know Koreans have gone to forever and it'll probably never change. For service, like most Korean restaurants grab the attention of the servers when you're ready to order and don't be afraid to speak up if you need anything. All-in-all, if you want to live out your favorite K-Drama moments or eat like your bias' from Twice or Stray Kids, Hsiang Yuen is a perfect place to live out those dreams. Make sure you bring friends or family with you to really get the family style dining experience and don't be surprised to take home lots of leftovers after for second dinner.

The server ladies were really noisy (they were talking in a mix of Chinese and Korean all day...), so it was so dirty that I thought I'd drool in the food... More than anything, I was so angry that I threw all the dishes... (I was scared that they were putting the hot tea so hard. ..) If you don’t want to work at Thanksgiving, I’d rather not. I went to a pleasant Thanksgiving with my family on time for the first time in a long time, and I was in a good mood. Of course, they say it tastes good, but the biggest problem is that it doesn't taste good.. Wow, it's a total mess... It's really my fault for just going here.. I won't go again, but I hope they correct it! It's dirty...

great portions and great food! both the jjampong and the jjajangmyeon was amazing, jjampong is very spicy and had lots of seafood in it so well worth the price, though jjajangmyeon could have had more meat in it for the price, but the highlight of this meal to me was definitely the garlic shrimp, it was probably the best garlic shrimp dish i've ever had. Service was sooo quick, we got our food in less than 15 minutes! Garlic Shrimp 10/10!! Jjampong 8/10 Jjajangmyeon 7.5/10
