New owner is just destroying the reputation this place had for years. Hopefully I won't be there anymore. Dosa smells like expired soybean oil. The dosa was served with ketchup and frozen ground coconut( I was scared to touch it). And the Samber was just horrible. Cheap people shouldn't be in the restaurant business!!!!

The lady at the counter is not friendly at all. The whole restaurant was empty and they never provided the chutney with my dosa.

Absolutely horrible food. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Stale, cold and flavorless.

Went to order food with my daughter. Asked my daughter to wash hands to get ready to eat , lady at the counter rudely insisted to place order before she used restroom. Wished she said that politely. Very bad experience. I hope you understand the difference between being rude and following protocol. There are many stores in Artesia to use restroom.

So I live in London, which isn’t short of great Indian food places. But I’ve found nothing there that comes close to Kake de Dhaba. The chole bhature was to die for, the parathas were great, and the gol gappe were awesome too. The service was great, and Reshma is such a friendly presence behind the counter.

Highly recommend Kake da Dhaba for delicious and authentic Indian food!
Their bhalle-papdi-chaat is absolutely DIVINE - the best I've had in the US. The samosa chaat was equally impressive, both bursting with flavor and true to tradition. The portions are very generous - the cholle bathure was easily shareable between two people. The owner and server were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. We finished our meal with their sweet lassi and delicious chai - the perfect way to end a fantastic meal. I will definitely be back!

Vegetarian options: Cholle bhature, rajma Chahal, daal etc

I found this restaurant while dress shopping. I’m not Indian and when I step inside Indian restaurants I have a hard time ordering and feel overwhelmed. Well the lady at the front made me feel welcome and at ease. I ordered chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and masala dosa. All three were delicious but the tikka masala was AMAZING! Food tasted a lot like my mother in law’s food! I went back 2 days later to pick up the dress and just couldn’t skip getting food from here again! And just like the day before, the lady in the front, (I’m guessing she is the owner) was fantastic and welcoming! Wish I lived closer to Artesia to visit more often!

A buffet in Little India? A welcome surprise!

Occupying the former premises of Ambala Dhaba, Chennai Dosa Corner & other eateries, Kake Da Dhaba, a Punjabi restaurant, has recently opened up with signage promoting their AYCE buffet. Lunch buffets used to be common amongst the Little India restaurants. Aside from a few weekend/brunch buffets, there's slim pickings these days. So, when I spotted Kake Da Dhaba's buffet, I knew I had to check them out.

Inside, I noticed the chafing dishes were labelled, but empty. I was told to choose what I'd like, and the food would be made to order. After what seemed like an excruciatingly long 15 minutes or so, I finally had my tray of food. While having freshly made food is a positive, when dining at a buffet, I'm ready to chowdown ASAP. Now that I know the food's made to order, I know to expect a wait, going forward.

On to the food, I found Kake Da Dhaba's food really delicious. I was quite fond of their goat curry, chole bhature, saag paneer & kadhi. The flavors popped, warming my body. To cool off, the sweet chilled dahi balla was a great way to end the buffet (twice).

There are two things I believe have room for improvement. Asking for a glass of iced water, I was told the only included option is room temp tap water. Yuck! Fortuitously for me, my Owala stainless steel water bottle had some left for me to drink. Having included chilled spring water (or even better, masala chai) would enhance the experience. In addition, the rice didn't taste very fresh. I only had a little bit, saving the carbs for the tasty garlic naan.

Service was good. Again, the wait seemed long, but my food was being freshly prepared. Kake Da Dhaba, being a quaint restaurant, has a decent amount of seating. Parking is shared at the New Flavors of India plaza, with more parking via metered street & nearby parking structures.

Kade Da Dhaba brings back the Indian buffet, once a stalwart of Little India. I highly enjoyed the food available in their buffet. Packed with flavor, I'm looking forward to coming back for more, hoping more buffet options are integrated and to see if my suggestions are taken into consideration.
