Very tasty and great pricing
We came to Oaxaca Village Restaurant & Cantina with the family wanting to try something a little different from our usual Mexican spots, and it ended up being a great choice. The space feels open and welcoming, not too crowded, with a relaxed but lively vibe. It felt comfortable for a family meal, and service was friendly and attentive without hovering.
For food, we leaned into their Oaxacan specialties. I ordered the enchiladas de mole con pollo, and that mole was the star of the meal—rich, slightly sweet, and full of depth without being overpowering. The chicken was tender, and the handmade tortillas really made a difference; you can tell they’re made fresh. We also shared a tasajo plate, which came with thinly sliced beef that was well-seasoned and paired nicely with the sides. At the table, we had guacamole and drinks, including micheladas, which were refreshing and balanced. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and authentic. It’s definitely a spot where you come to slow down, enjoy the flavors, and share plates with family. We all left full and happy, and it’s a place I’d come back to when craving Oaxacan food specifically.

We’re mole fans and decided to try this restaurant. The service was very fast, our server was pleasant and welcoming. The atmosphere is open concept and not overcrowded. Many beers on tap and hubby was happy when he saw Negra Modelo on tap. They have a full bar and bar seating if you rather not sit at a table. I had the mint lemonade and it was not overpowered or too sour, which I love. Very refreshing.
We had the empanadas with chorizo and potato appetizer. They came topped with beans, salsa and on a bed of lettuce. Superb and a huge shareable serving. Hubby has the Camarones Al Diabla, which came with huge shrimp ( they don’t skimp! ) fluffy red rice and savory black beans. I had Tlayuda with chicken and it was HUGE. I chose the mole Negra and it was very rich and Smokey. The homemade tortillas that came with hubbys meal were so good, he ordered more. We’re definitely were stuffed but once we heard they had platanos fritas, we splurged.
We’re definitely going to return and tell our friends who are from Oaxaca. This is authentic and local for us.
