Noodles are good, but other items are just average. Not a good selection of veggies. Customer service is bad. They always look annoyed when I go there. No smile whatsoever (well, it's a Chinese Restaurant so that's almost kinda of a given). They want you to pay cash. They charge 3.5% if you use credit card which I tend to use. Coming here less often because I don't like getting charged extra for CC transactions.Vegetarian options: Small selection for vegans/vegetarians.

The food is great but the lady who is there has the worst attitude. I always feel like we aren’t welcome there. I asked for soy sauce and was given 3 packets for 3 people. Everything feels like an inconvenience for her. It’s a shame since the food is good. I have been here a couple times and every time it is empty and I get the feeling she’d rather be sleeping.

Good Chinese food, pretty authentic. Ordered eggplant with garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), fish, and wonton, all delicious and very fresh, with very reasonable price. Will try their noodles in the future! They do charge 3.5% extra for using credit card, a bit annoying.

Shang Jie Kitchen is a hidden gem in Artesia, California, offering a taste of authentic Henan cuisine that will transport you to the heart of China. Their dishes are bursting with flavor, from the tender lamb and cumin dish to the savory beef with bamboo shoots and the juicy pork dumplings. Every bite is a symphony of spices and textures, a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The lamb and cumin dish is a must-try, with the meat so tender it melts in your mouth. The cumin adds a unique depth of flavor, while the accompanying vegetables provide a refreshing contrast. The beef with bamboo shoots is another standout, with the bamboo adding a delicate crunch to the tender beef. And don't forget the pork dumplings – plump, juicy, and packed with flavor. While the food is the star of the show, the ambiance at Shang Jie Kitchen is also worth mentioning. The restaurant is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who are eager to make your dining experience memorable.A quick tip: Shang Jie Kitchen charges a 3.5% fee for debit and credit cards, so it's best to bring cash.If you're looking for an authentic taste of Henan cuisine, Shang Jie Kitchen is the place to be. It was an interesting visit this time around. I had the fried fish (may air fried), fresh veggies (the Bok Choy seems like it was only the leafy part) & shredded potatoes (with a different twist) and 2 Bowls of rice. It came to $52 and change. I really had a hard time having dinner tonight. I guess it was not to my liking. I'm the kind of person who likes everything. Sometimes I guess I just ordered some dishes that the Chef likes but not popular to the general public. But I did notice almost everyone who enjoyed their dinner ordered individual soups. I think these are the most popular dishes here. They run around $14 and up. I hope I just came on a bad night. I really enjoy eating out and helping those who do find a place to come back again and again. Did anyone else have a different opinion? Thanks!

Shang Jie has improved and it's so much better now. Service and food is quick.Favorites- Dan Dan noodle with thick noodles and sesame sauceScallion pancakes- one of the best in the area! Ultra thin and crispy. Portion is awesomeFried pork chop and popcorn chicken appetizers- very tasty and delicious

#1 lamb would with thick noodles, some seaweed, glass noodles, goji berries. Added some black vinegar and chili which made it tastier. -tofu casserole- had a few shrimp too. Good flavor, but wished it had veggies too. -sauteed bok choy- pretty tasty w garlic-dried noodles w special pork- pretty tasty w thin noodles. Wished they added more of the leafy veggies. Would come back again to try more noodle dishes as the noodles were pretty good.

The lamb noodle soup is delicious but very greasy; better to dine in otherwise can have pretty strong flavor (of course you can always reheat/ microwave if it’s a takeout order). All the dishes are tasty and with very fair price. The merchant charges 3.5% for credit card processing fee.

Really yummy food! Probably the best beef noodle soup you'll ever have. Only downside is that prices have skyrocketed over the past 2-3 years and portion sizes have gotten smaller. They also no longer honor the cash discount. Service is decent but not extraordinary. And this place feels like a class small mom & pop chinese restaurant. I love their beef noodle soup, but not sure it's worth $17-18.

I really hate that, at midnight I suddenly remember their lamb biscuit(yang rou jia mo?). It's sooooo good, my mouth waters remembering the spicy soft lamb inside a-crispy on the outside, soft in the inside-bun. I wish they were open 24 hours. Their xiaolongbao is also very good, more savory than the nearby places(Lunasia or Northern Cafe).

We ordered food for delivery from this place and we were so happy!!!! Husband saw it on yelp. I have not had authentic chinese hand cut noodle beef stew with tendon in a long time, as in since I would travel to different parts of China for work until last night! My husband hit the jackpot! It was so delicious!I bet it would taste so much better coming straight from their kitchen. So I plan to go to the restaurant soon.We also ordered a lamb soup and wonton. we loved how our soups tasted uniquely distinct for each! It was the right amount of savory and the aromatics were on point! Oh and the pig ears mixed with nuts were amazing!! Maybe one of my new favorites.Sorry I haven't mentioned the actual dish names here but I highly recommend this place if you're tired of the mediocre noodle soups or super salty varieties this is an awesome discovery!
